That is not even remotely true.

You play in the league? It's football. You play hurt. There is a difference between hurt and injured. This is why they get paid obscene amounts of money. You need to be able to handle diagnosed injury at times and fight through it.

I agree Foles has done really well, but he is actually getting paid more than Wentz this year, and his option for next year is around $20 million. I assume by price you mean the picks the eagles traded for Wentz?

The picks they traded and the pick they spent to get him. Plus, the reason Foles is making more money is because his contract is based around incentive for winning, which he constantly does when he plays.

Trainers work for the team, not the players. Many players have filed grievances with the league over these situations. Just because the trainers and doctors say you can play, doesn’t make it true. He’s clearly been hurt all year if you’ve been watching.

If you are hurt to the point where you shouldn't be playing, you won't play.

Are we taking into account that the man had a broken back for much of this season and is/was less than a year away from reconstructive knee surgery?

When healthy last year Wentz was an MVP candidate. Maybe he’ll be banged up his whole career and that’ll be the book on him. But I’m not sure how someone can argue that he isn’t a great QB when he’s healthy.

NFL players play through injury all the time, Wentz is no exception. If those guys can't play, their trainers tell them they can't. When your backup can come in and produce the exact same amount, if not more you aren't irreplaceable. He is good don't get me wrong, but as of now in Philly, his backup has done everything he has done and more at a much lower price.

You make good points. His opportunities to prove himself so far have been hampered by unfortunate injuries. Hopefully that won’t be the story of his career.

With Wentz at the helm, Philly was not going to the playoffs. Foles was an obvious upgrade over a healthy Wentz.

  6. Isn't it the AD's job to make sure he approves of the hirings of all the Head Coaches on campus? It is literally impossible to judge the hire until we see what type of product is put on the field. I do know that Darin King, Sam's dad, was a hell of a coach and Red River football would have been in a much different position had King kept coaching. Instead, Darin worked his way up and is now a big wig with the NDUS. Apples don't fall far from trees. I'm sure Sam King knows his stuff and for 40k a year (minimum wage) he could be a steal.

But a Grover or Heidelbaugh type QB is almost worse than nothing, and I remember how hyped people were about H when we first signed him.

I have watched the Zavalney kid play football and basketball and he is very similar to Heidelbahl, however, I would say he has more potential as a WR. Zavalney was also a high school QB, so it is nice to see the staff make him a WR right away and not try to make him a "project" qb. Wouldn't be surprised if he moves over to Defense though. In the signing say special they said he had 14 picks in his Junior and Senior year......even though its small town football thats an impressive stat.

Trey Lance will start. The ISU transfer will be an insurance policy. I am not sure the fan base of a school starting a Sac State cast off should be bashing the QB situation of other schools. Kett is not very good but is apparently the best QB ind the UND QB room. Gotta love a kid that is supposed to be the team leader that trash talks when they are getting a beat down.

Why don't you go on whatever Moo U's fan forum and talk about how great the Bison are and how they would beat Bama, instead of adding insight here that no one cares about or needs for that matter?

Of course he's going to want to start. We had a transfer from Illinois a few years ago (Desmond Cain) and he fell almost to the bottom of our depth chart in his 2 years. Some transfers just don't work as well as others, I could be wrong though.

Cain was also a thug who caused a lot of friction within the locker room. Hopefully "your" new QB does the same!

Actually the QB is the only commitment we lost, and we replace it with a Big 12 transfer, and kept a LB that had a current offer from K-State along with several other FBS schools. I call that a pretty darn successful day. How many QB's do you guys have on the roster now with your other commit going to Texas State?

Why would you waste your time on a team on a UND fan page when you are an NDSU fan? I'm sorry your life must be very dull.

Is that how you felt before he decommitted?

Yes I actually did. I never talked him up because I felt like if he was really that great he would have went to Nebraska or at least tried to with their traditions of walk ons being so important

  12. If a kid commits somewhere, decommits, and then commits somewhere else..........I don't want him. Once you give someone your word, you stick with it. The worst possible FBS school could have offered this kid and he would have taken it because of the FBS label. He has some nice skills, but all in all he isn't the greatest QB prospect I've seen. Not much speed and who knows what Fruend's offense will expect of the QB.

  13. I'm guessing that Linebacker/Video position is finally being made a full time position (it never has been) and now it is so it is a formality to make the job public, so my assumption would be Carl stays put.

  14. I think the biggest thing with recruiting is you need to hit with your scholarship offers and those kids need to contribute in a year or two. With the PWOs, you need to get the local kids who have potential to be studs. I like the Zavalney kid being 6-4, huge stride and an all around athlete. I like his potential to contribute in a couple years. I would like to see another OL commit that could contribute soon, whether it be JC or HS or even transfer. I'm not too concerned with RB with James leading the way and Gordon spelling him from time to time it should be a solid 1-2 punch.

Based on the list from the 360 guys my order for WR coach

    1. Schleusner

    2. Dressler

    3. Heckendorf

    4. Pauley

I like this list. I'll go like this:

    1. Landry (Would be shocked if we snagged him)

    2. Schleusner (Don't think we have a chance at him)

    3. King (Kids absolutely loved this guy, I want who the athletes want to play for.)

  16. I'm guessing Danny will try to plug in someone who fits his mold, Energetic, younger, and knows his guys that he has in that room will respect and play hard for. Probably won't be getting someone with D1 experience if you ask me, but that doesn't mean they won't be a good coach.
