If I could set the homer-ism aside for a minute. It is hard to do, but; I would give the award to Hanowski hands down. I love Mattson and can't wait to see him in Kelly Green, but what Hanowski has done on a non traditional power is remarkable. Completely disregarding the point totals, I would say Hanowski is the most deserving.

Nice article, for those of use that are not xenophobes... It really does make since, when UND gets players from the Winnipeg it is the geographical equivalent of Minnesota taking players from Duluth or "da range." I know that some (Woog) hate the idea of Canadians playing at UND, but I think this article points to what it should be, a point of pride for UND and Manitoba.

I suspect this will really help his positioning for next season's draft since he was not drafted this year. He will be a top player in the USHL whereas he might be fighting for time (and certainly not on a scoring line) if he had come to UND. He has potential to be a real impact player at UND. My guess is that both Fink an Cichy go on their second try.

Nick Bjugstad (MN HS) to Goldy. Highly unlikely there were any other schools in the running. He is still young so development will be the key for this pickup.

Just look at Bochenski. He came to UND as a Butt Ugly skater and left just an Ugly skater...
