Hope today’s games are better than yesterday’s. Can Cornell’s defense smother BU like it did DU? Can SCSU skate with the Gophers? Will Castor stand on his head? I’d love for Minnesota to leave North Dakota with another bad memory.

Just thinking out loud here: maybe it doesn’t require a ton of NIL cash to move the needle. When I was in college, $1000 seemed like an unimaginable amount of money to me.

When the game changes, you have to change your mindset and adapt. For example, former Vikings coach Mike Zimmer came from a defensive era of NFL football. Defense was his mindset. He preferred to lose 14-13 than win 45-42, because defense. (Only a slight exaggeration.) But the game passed him by. Now the game favors skill and speed while punishing certain kinds of physicality, so more offensively-minded coaches are succeeding. A similar evolution seems to be occurring in college hockey. Adapt in order to thrive.
