What the H*LL???????? Gone because he's not being played? I wouldn't think Hakstol would do that

Guaranteed it's not Hak. If he hasn't played in college games, there's no way they'd pull him up. Especially with three years (two years playing) of eligibility remaining after this season. I hate to see these rumors fly with Matej knowing how highly touted he was coming into our school. Injuries set athletes back though. If he's gotta pull a Senkbeil, let him.

  2. There's not one good excuse out there for our level of play last night. It was a good start, but the slop is the reason that we were unable to hold a consistent lead through the full 60 minutes. I've said it, you've said it, we've all said it- our defense as a WHOLE has a lot of work to do. Even Tuck slipped up last night. We have captains not honing the leadership that's expected out of them, and when the boys hold themselves to a lower level of accountability, this is the result.

It's not a loss. But it's not a win either. I don't know about you guys, but when I see the word unbeaten it drives me nuts. Great, we haven't given up a loss yet in non-conference play but being referred to as unbeaten makes me cringe.

We need a much better effort. If last night's tie wasn't enough to get the boys on the horse tonight, it'll be another week of much needed GRIND in the Ralph before we have Denver come in. For all we know we'll be seeing a much better team out of them than we are the U.

Jost was suppose to be one of this teams offensive stars, haven't really noticed him much this season.

Need some goal scorers to step up.

We weren't expecting flashy as much as we were technical. If we focus on the latter with Tyson, we're getting exactly that. He's a great athlete. Leave the scoring up to Brock, Gersich and others..let him be a Schmaltz type to set up goals for now and let Josty form his mold before asserting domination. I have a hunch we're going to unleash hell in the second half of the season, and he'll have some influence.

Call it a hunch, but I think we house them, tonight. I expect a fired up crew and the boys will see all the green and ride that wave.

5-2 -- Hobey Boeser x2, Gersh and Yon each get one to stick it to their Minny relatives, Pogo. All 5 goals from Minnesota boys.

Still think Holl got away with a high stick with the U's attack coming into the zone...but it doesn't matter anymore. Wilcox was absolutely lights out that game and had an incredible season, but that doesn't take away from our squad that year. Great group of men.

Hoping a good week of practice has our boys reinvigorated for one of the biggest series of their lives. Very very excited to see what happens this weekend.

You literally never contribute anything constructive in your few posts on here. You showed up last year to criticize a loss in the Frozen Faceoff and disappeared when we won the national championship. If it looks like a troll and smells like a troll...

    ...it IS a troll.

  6. Goaltending is not our issue. Cam makes mistakes and lets bad ones in just like all other goaltenders, elites included. I don't mean to beat a dead horse but our defense DOES NOT look good. I really do believe we came out firing last night and carried the game for the first period. We just can't put together a full 60 minutes and this point in our schedule is where we really need to get better at it. If we don't here, we're going to go down early and as we saw time and time again with Hak, we're rebuilding in the second half because of more losses and ties in the first.

Hope is not lost here. Lessons were learned from this weekend. The Dogs deserved both wins, but we'll be right back in our building tomorrow and have one hell of a week going into Mariucci and the Gophers next weekend. This is not an expectation by any means, but I'd love to see our boys show why the Don didn't deserve an extension. Let's bury them.

No doubt!  Cool to see some of those old successful programs have good seasons again...like Tech a few years ago and now LSSU this year.  Hope they can keep it up!

LSSU also has a player the played in the WHL.

Supplemental to what C said, here's schloss' article from areavoices about that player. NC$$ really messed that up and again refused to hold themselves accountable.

Thank you for being the voice of reason.

I'll speak for myself. I'm not casting doubt on UND. At all. At the same time, I'm not setting any expectations. Perception is based on past experience, and in this context, past experience (especially in the last few years) has formed a respectable opinion of Tommy S and the Beavs. It's reasonable. Call it farfetched if you must.

Kind of a tough crowd for a team that's the defending national champion, currently undefeated, playing at home, has out shot opponents 118-42, out scored opponents 15-3 and playing a team that we've lost to a grand total of 2 times EVER. I get it, they're good, but why are we expected to take a step back?

Other than "they're coming in hot" (so are we), "they play us tough" (so do we to them and we are more talented) and "Bitzer is playing well" (so is Cam), what are the reasons that we shouldn't be sweeping Bemidji?

Honestly, no disrespect to the Beavs, but what the heck?! :D

Bemidji is playing just as well on the ice as they are on paper. What's quoted are opinions believed by many, but they are truly playing quality hockey. That's in no way discrediting the success that OUR boys are experiencing, but when we're talking about BSU, it's because at that time BSU is the primary focus. I've personally assumed the mindset of Bubs and the boys by saying this is one game at a time. We're expecting a fight out of Bemidji as they've brought one in years past. They are and have been a rival and they will always approach this series with a hungry mentality. Hopefully we can get the sweep, but we certainly can't expect it to come easy.

Based on how lackadaisical UND has defended in the first few games, I bet BSU takes one. There have been a ton of open looks in front of Cam. Even though they're giving up about 15 shots a game, I'd bet more than half are grade-A chances. It's possible they'll raise their play for a regional rival who always plays them tough. Could be a rude awakening playing against someone like DU, who faced a brutal opening schedule.

I agree wholeheartedly. I was talking to the Nanne family between 2nd and 3rd intermission (Louie and I grew up together in Edina) and when hockey was the discussion, I had to give it to RPI- we were playing pretty sloppy, with a few notable moments in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Even though we kept lighting up the scoreboard, the defense has had some inconsistencies (i.e., play that led to Wood's breakaway goal). Early mistakes can be remedied though and I have full confidence that we will have a strong D corps going into the second half of the season.
