  1. If I remember correctly there was some excitement around Tambo coming in, but I'm not sure it was to the level of Brock Boeser or Tyson Jost. It was a complete shock to a lot of the guys on the team when Adam left our program too, but nothing that had a lasting effect. Reflecting back I wish he would've stayed but it happens when you aren't experiencing what you thought you would. Couldn't agree more with this; truly a class act guy and nothing to date has penetrated the consistency of that statement. He's also one of our captains. When Vancouver confirmed back in April that he was going to stay, they threw some volume behind that. They know better than to pull an athlete out midseason, especially Brock. Even as high caliber as he is, everybody can always improve.
  2. Personally, I'd be concerned seeing Brock turning around and playing 18 days after getting surgery, but I'm no doctor. And according to Schloss' on the TSN show earlier, the expectation is that Tyson will play in a medal game Thursday and fly down to Omaha Friday morning/afternoon to make it for game time Friday night.
  3. yeah, he might know if the "six figs" salary has the decimal inside it or not, right?
  4. Call it what you want, this time around the acronym behind it was F**k your post.
  5. Gersich Gardner Pogo Janny Hoff Wilkie Yon Bowen Olson Smith Simo Gornall Ausmus T Poolman Wolanin C Poolman Cas Johson Peski Cammer with the start.
  6. DaveK possibly messing with the metal that our banners hang from
  7. Not sure if anybody else paid as close attention to this but during the initial presentation of the colors I swear I could've heard a pin drop in the building..never ever heard the Ralph that quiet. Only for it to be ruined by a fellow student yell "I love you Mark" before MJL sang.
  8. We'll find out around 5ish, as far as I know he's supposed to leave sometime after the game tonight.
  9. Above and beyond St. Cloud State and the Saturday Gopher game, last night was a very impressive all around performance. Firing on all cylinders and a team that came to play for a 60 full minutes, only to show Andy Murray that when Western comes into our building we are very capable of asserting dominance. Hopefully that can be backed up with another solid performance tonight.
  10. Hey, fun win to watch. High scoring game but a dub is a dub.
  11. Couldn't agree more with this. Also, for those who haven't seen Schloss' blog post on Matej from Wednesday, they should check it out. Something very good perspective-wise for people who thought he might potentially be jumping ship mid-year; I certainly hadn't realized this but that's also why Brad is so darn good at his job. http://undhockey.areavoices.com/?p=104217
  12. I knew there was a reason that Oxford bought that place out....oh well.
  13. Students got an e-mail for it this past week; an announcement has to be on it's way shortly here.
  14. Need to consider the fact that he was also being approached/pressured by the Blackhawks to leave early, meaning he was at their prospect and development camps training during the summer when he wasn't here in Grand Forks. Even then, unless we're talking a Tate Maris, Matt Hrynkiw or Nick Mattson type, our guys aren't going to overload themselves during the summer. Three classes max over the three summer sessions seems reasonable but above and beyond that...whooooa buddy.
  15. Unless Luke had a ton of college credit before he came here, which I highly doubt, he did not graduate. He was only a junior last year, and I know that because he and I (along with B O'D and St. Clair) had a communications class together during LJ's freshman season. As Yzerman said, he could've definitely used the additional year on personal basis, and although he was more on the quiet side, he would've been a good veteran/enforcer to have around.
  16. Boeser held out. Gers Jost Pogo Smith Gardner JJ Yon Bowen Olson Cas. Johns Simo Gorny Ausmus T. Poolman Wolanin Shaw C. Poolman Peski Cammer Hrinks Tomek. I'm a fan of these lines. It should be interesting to see Casey come up from the blue line. Hopefully Peski can turn it on.
  17. We dropped from 5 to T12 in the pairwise after last night's loss. We have 2 of our 3 remaining nonconference games in the next week. If that isn't enough to motivate the guys, I don't know what is. We can't sacrifice Brock, and we've proven that we can score without him. All it takes is a solid, tight all around effort from every guy skating out, and giving Cam the net out front that he deserves. We skate like we did both games last weekend at SCSU EVERY GAME, and a win is most definitely possible. 5-2 Siouxbuis. Let's go.
  18. If the guys in our locker room approach any game or opponent with this kind of mindset, 9 times out of 10 we're going to get the effort that we got out of them in the 1st and 2nd periods last night. Dig ourselves a hole early, and work our asses off to TRY and come up with a win. That's unacceptable in every way. Go into EVERY game expecting the other team to battle and you're well on your way to a win. North Dakota knows this, our tradition and continued excellence embraces that.
  19. Boeser out. Gers Jost Pogo Hoff Gardner Janny Smith Simo Wilkie Yon Bowen Olson Ausmus T. Poolman Wolanin Shaw Cas. Johnson C. Poolman Cam Hrinks Tomek Glad to see Matej dressing. 5-1 Siouxhawks
  20. Already off to a good start, too. Welcome
  21. Been pretty inactive on here since the Minnesota series as I've been traveling a ton over the last couple weeks- however I have been able to follow via notifications from the team's twitter account and reading Schloss' recaps. It looks as though, at least from this past weekend, the boys are finding their way. A couple switcheroos with the top lines and seeing more consistency with Cole Smith breaking the lineup has been great, and I really hope we continue to build off the hard work so that we can convert W's. It's going to be an exciting end of the first half, and if we can catapult off this SCSU series with a sweep over Michigan State, have an unreal practice week for the showdown at MSG...we have a lot to look forward to.
