New head coach is from Oregon St. They came to MSU as a package deal.
Yep. He was a high rated 2023 recruit.

Good for Tommy. MSU also got a portal QB from Oregon State, so it appears Tommy will slot in as the backup. Would be cool to see him get a chance at some point.

Some of you folks wouldn’t be upset if UND won 7 games every season for the rest of eternity, because it’s “better than where we were”, so there’s that …
I think there are less people that fall under this category on here than you think

By my count, between returners and transfers, there are 7 Safety's. Two questions, what's the confidence level that there are two legitimate starters in that group? Second being, are there two others you feel good about filling out the 2-Deep with?
Transfers: Martens (So), Martin (Jr)
Last Years Depth: Ball (SR), Davis (JR)
Last Years Youth: Sutton (So), Pfeffer (So), Erkman (R-FR)
They really believe in Erkman from what I’ve heard. They are banking on him being a stud.

Too long.
2 seasons I believe. So this year and then 2 more years (through 25-26 season). Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
Correct

There’s an ugly trend happening across campus right now….. wasn’t too long ago that I was delusional enough to think the university could see a similar year of success as that 2016-17 year….
The thing with UND athletics is… they will never continue to build off of momentum.

I guess some people didn’t notice/realize but my last post about our gameplan was 100% sarcasm.
Tonight was 90% on the coaches/staff and 10% players. The players play but they were not put in positions to be successful.
Game plan appeared to be awful but even with a good game plan we didn’t look ready to play and had very low energy. (Which is also on the coaches)

10 days to come up with a game plan and that was what Sather came up with. Absolute embarrassment
St Thomas guarded us exactly how I thought conference teams would. They exploited our sh*ty ball screen coverage and picked on Brady D any time he was in the game. Good luck against sdsu
Brady got beat bad off the dribble multiple times

This game just lost a lot of fan attendance for the rest of the year
Decent crowd and this is their showing. Might go to the NDSU game but that would be it for me. Can’t believe how allergic UND teams are to continuing to build off momentum/good performances. Never consistent

To try to get this back on the rails ... based on this:
https://fightinghawks.com/news/2023/12/20/north-dakota-football-adds-28-during-early-signing-period.aspxWhy two QBs? I asked once already without a great answer.
Odds we see both Thadens starting at OL at the same time at some point?
The "front seven" recruits on D all seem light, but they are coming from HS.
Maybe Romfo is switching positions?

You always start with the false narrative that "football is more popular than hockey". FBS football in the P5 conferences ONLY may be more popular than hockey, but FCS football is not anywhere close to being more popular than D1 hockey. UND is in the black in one sport and that is hockey. UND makes more from hockey than NDSU makes from football, and NDSU has dominated FCS football for over a decade. Keep telling yourself otherwise.
FCS football is definitely close isn’t it? Maybe I’m wrong?

Their current run has been accomplished with all of the same players. I’m already very impressed with SDSU, but if this run continues into next year, I’ll be the first to admit they’ve overtaken NDSU as the dominant FCS team. As of now, they’re on a great run, but let’s see if they can do it with the next crop of players the way NDSU did.
They have a lot of 5th and 6th year guys that are done now, correct?

This. Need 2-3 safeties as well IMO.
Would both of the transfers they brought in from the West Virginia State be corners?

Last year we had 2 portal surprises on signing day, so I will wait to give my full opinion on things. Not looking good right now, and I have a feeling I will be extremely disappointed when this signing day is over.

Polacek seems like NDSU's "Bubba hire". Picked by the "Good ole' boys" at NDSU. Loves the program, will jump on a grenade for NDSU football. But....is he a good head coach? We shall see.
I don’t agree with this. He might not end up being a good HC, but look at the resume.

If they just keep it simple and run Q Power this game is still going on.
