  1. Teams will see how Eaglestaff played today and against the Bison and be physical with him. Same with Omot, he had 5 TO’s today.

Being physical like KC was today is the way to beat this team. Bison did it too but fell apart at the end.

Learned more info of late. Not good. Doomed program with Bubba as head coach. Need new leadership. Hope 2024 goes better than I think it will.

    You’re gonna leave us hanging?

Who says we have peaked yet and are playing our best basketball?  What I saw today was far from peaking for this team but you do you

Yep. I think his point would have been better if we had won by 20+. Good for us to grind out a game like this when we didn’t play near our best.

What is going through Bubbas head right now ?

    - I have built a legacy here and not leaving it ?
    - und football has no chance to survive without me ?

Come on Bubba!! Do the university, the city, the fans and the players a huge favor and get the hell out !  You have sent this program back further than Muss had. At least Muss could use the “ I took the program on a maiden voyage into D1” response.  You Bubba…on the other hand can take the “ yeah I took Muss’ recruits, sprouted some new life  into the program and sunk it to the ocean floor like titanic” response.

You claim to love this university and program.  By you staying …shows neither.  Your sunk!  So many of us faithful have turned away.   You bring nothing to the table.   Blah, boring,  predictable are some of the adjectives that can describe you.  It’s time to step aside.  What do you really have for expectations next year ?  Honestly.   You know damn sure you will not win a playoff game with very slightest odds of even making the playoffs.  So why stay and have the program fall further ?

If the rumor is true that Joe is leaving that one hurts.  Bad !    I really liked Joe.  He was the one guy that had no UND connections and desire to win and had football competency.  He turned the OL into a fantastic unit.

    Yet Bubba remains.  Sad sad

I’m not happy with how things are going right now, but that’s a ridiculous statement. Do we have to remind everyone how much of a mess it was when Muss was fired?

I'm confused as well. If coaches leave, that automatically means that things are going bad in a program? Or is there some sort of arbitrary test that is applied to see whether it is beneficial for ones argument?

Pretty sure NDSU lost their head coach (to be LB coach at USC??), OC (to take the same job in a worse conference for a worse team and then had to steal UND's?) and also multiple assistants. Are things in a tailspin there?

Our offensive staff must have been getting sick of how bad the defense has been. We certainly had a good group of coaches on the offensive side (and still might).

I don’t understand how anyone can try and spin what’s happening to be a positive thing. The way I see it, they all see the writing on the wall. I hope I’m wrong but don't see how these team succeeds next year.

Like I have said before, if this team fails to win a playoff game this year, Bubba needs to be fired.  With a year left on his contract, nothing justifies extending him if they don't win at least one playoff game.  We could all be surprised, but it's gonna be tough to win 7 games next year looking at the schedule given we will have a new QB and a new OC.

Not meaning to dog on the current state of the program, but it is what it is.  As the old saying goes, "You be positive, I'll be realistic"

I’m still more worried about the defense than I am with a new QB and OC. I honestly could see our offense having a good year but it won’t matter because our defense will be that bad.

How many total significant contributors do we lose before classes begin in August?

Don’t think we will see any, if you want to leave it’s better to do it earlier so you can have spring ball with your new team. Only person would be somebody like Bo, but I’m going to be optimistic and say he stays.

  8. Just guessing, but because of the extension he will be here next year as well. Don’t see them buying out two years.

As someone who loves football and basketball, it’s a disappointing time to be a UND fan. I’m not one on the anti hockey train, I still follow along a bit but have never been able to get into it.

True, but how much of that was because of our defensive coordinator vs. the lack of size and skill we had on the field.

D-Line has been undersized forever. OLB are long or fast enough. Safety has been an issue for a while. CB is the one area where coaching seemed to really lack in changing our approach, we seem to have the speed and athleticism, but consistently give receivers 10 yards of cushion to make catches. It doesn't even look like our CBs want to approach the WR until he has completed the catch, then we go after them (and miss tackles).

For Bubba to boast that this is a defensive minded team is a joke. I wouldn't hang my hat on that if I was him.

That’s what I’m saying. We lack the skill and size needed and if a D-coordinator really did their homework why would they want this job? Especially since it opened up late

I’d be very surprised if an outside candidate - including even a D2 coordinator - would want to sign with this sinking ship, but you never know. Think back to the D coordinator spot last season - we all know how that went. This program is spiraling out of control and will continue to until a new top man gets the job.

D coordinator job opened in February, and our defense was a disaster. Very unlikely we would have had an outside candidate that was worthwhile.

Unproven at QB this year, with a new coordinator......run the ball, field position, while playing good defense should work right?

Yep, we have a defensive minded head coach, so our defense should be good!

Be odd for Danny to leave unless he was told he is not going to be the next head coach or they are opening it up nationwide best man wins.

Danny was here with Mussman too, probably would just want a fresh start somewhere. This would be a good career move for him.
