  1. I've been wanting to make this list for awhile, and with all the talk about leaving ND in this forum I decided to put my research pants on and compile a list of players who've left ND for Tier 1 with their current teams this year. Lot of good, lot of not so good and a lot still TBD. Couple things did stand out to me, West Fargo 07-08 birth years loaded and if you're from Minot you're probably better off staying in Minot. Enjoy! 2002 Hayden Helgeson - Grand Forks - didn’t play any hockey after 18u Northstar Christian (2021) Brady Braun - West Fargo - didn’t play any hockey after 18u Des Moines Buccaneers (2021) Blaise Miller - Grand Forks - Concordia College (NCAAD3) Ben Strinden - Fargo - UND (NCAAD1) Dane Montgomery - Grand Forks - UND (NCAAD1) Nick Pineo (Goalie) - Grand Forks - Not on active roster this year, last played 2023 Hudson Havoc (USPHL Premier) Jackson Kunz - Grand Forks - UND (NCAAD1) 2003 Liam Cox-Smith - Minot - Liberty Univ. If I missed a few feel free to mention them and where they're playing this year.
  2. I edited the 16u score for you.
  3. Their dad has been flooding that famous ODR in their backyard since Hammer was in diapers.
  4. I think it just the rink rat mentality and hockey people being involved. Warroad had a very similar dip in competitiveness last decade. There is a solid group of next generation players coming up in Roseau at the squirt and mites levels too to potentially turns things around.
  5. It’ll never end, it’s only going to get worse. They’re 2010 birth years in Grand Forks who already have advisors. Do you think they’re going to advise them to stay in ND or go the Tier 1 route?
  6. You have your facts all mixed up. His parents did get a divorce right around that time and he was born in the twin cities. But he lived in Warroad at least since Kindergarten. How do I know? Well I’m looking at a photo album right now and he was in my class.
  7. Well that’s just not true.
  8. For someone who gets mad when people say ignorant comments about comparing ND high school hockey to MN high school hockey, you say something like this? What goes on with that girls program has nothing to do with the boys program. Warroads recent success at getting back to the state tourney, their Mr Hockey, their Frank Brimsek award winner, their Team USA 4 Nations player are/were home grown. Sure Oshie moved in from Washington, but he’ll be the first one to admit he wouldn’t be where he is at without the free ice and culture/program Warroad provided him. There are programs on the ND/MN border who are currently/have recruited more players into their respective programs than Warroad.
  9. Elite Prospects has him as an 08.
  10. No sorry. Cullen, Lindberg and Laurilla would be on the Spuds HS team if they stayed.
  11. Crazy part about this Moorhead team is they have 2 players playing in the NTDP and another playing for the Force that would be on this team.
  12. HS power plays frustrate me. You can try and run a 1-3-1 but if your wall guys are stationary and not coming down hill it’s not going to be effective and the killers can just sit back and take away the seams.
  13. Nope. Same groups of kids from termites. Even when they lose players to those programs people don’t like there’s enough in the pipeline to win 40 some state championships over the years.
  14. I read the long post earlier in the thread about being passionate about people bashing ND hockey but let’s call a spade a spade. GF has built a hockey culture that rivals the top communities in MN. In other words GF has more in common to Edina in hockey than any other community/association compares to them in the state
  15. The timing of this extension is odd. We lost 2 of our best coaches mainly because he didn’t have an extension.
  16. Former UND DBack Chavon Mackey tragically passed away last Sunday morning in Jacksonville, FL in an auto accident. I know he wasn’t a fan favorite in this forum during the Mussman/Transition years but regardless he loved Sioux Football and he left it all on the field when he played and will be missed by his former teammates and friends. Please join me in praying for his 3 young children and family while they go through this tragic time. https://www.phillipsmortuary.com/obituary/chavon-mackey-ii
  17. It comes down to QB play, clearly Ketteringham is not the guy for the job. Bubba and staff inability to recruit and develop a QB is embarrassing.
  18. How do you stop your route a yard short of the 1st down?
  19. Braden, who is Jays oldest son.
  20. I don’t understand why most of you are against a mascot? Every MAJOR school out there has one, heck the school to the south has a mascot that is pretty recognizable. When the Bleacher Creature came out did people expect it to be a Cartoon Sioux Indian with a head dress instead?Cause that what have went over well. There is a lot more positives than negatives if we in fact incorporate a “Hawk” mascot. The kids will love it! And once we start playing our natural rivals having a mascot pump up the crowd will go a long ways, cause clearly the cheerleaders or dance team can’t. Hell over the past few years the students athletes from other sports cheering on other teams have been the only energy from the stands.
  21. Technically Harris committed during the 2013 season when Mussman was the coach still.
  22. Absolutely love watching JJ aka The Fargo Freight Train run the ball. I know we have a two have lighting and thunder but we need to mix in JJ earlier in the gameplan.
  23. 3rd down we call a toss play then on 4th we take a deep shot downfield, interesting...
