Dallas declined to offer sheet Kawaguchi. Hope he gets a game in the N at some point.

Brad shared the Wild development camp list to mention a Roseau native going to Vermont, but Hobie Hedquist is at it as well.

James at 40th overall. Lorenz and Lucius dropping.

Stinks we didn't get Cooley after his decommit or Howard. The Chaska kids seem born to be Gophers. And if we ever get a first rounder out of Michigan/Massachusetts, I'll drink to that.
Having both Chyzyk and Mattson on staff at the hockey middle school Snuggerud and Brink's dads run could help getting some southwest metro blue chips down the road.
More than anything, I'm curious if we can start getting some of the studs out of Winnipeg/MB to consider UND with NIL money exceeding their MJ stipend. The cousins from there both drafted today would have been targets in that scenario.

Given the current climate on the DU campus, it is not better me the realm of possibility that the Pioneers nickname could eventually be dropped. There is a small-but vocal-minority trying to change it just as they did with removing Boone as the school’s official mascot.
A similar situation happened at my wife's Alma mater where they determined "Missionaries" was too imperialistic. Too many people haven't figured out how to reach self-actualization and take up these causes instead.

Was curious how we didn’t land Makar and found a great article about it - I’m sure most on here have seen it. He is so good - don’t think the Dogs would’ve shut us down with him like they did UMASS. Of course I mean in 2020
His cousin is married to WBL native and UMass grad Justin Braun

Hows this for a fun idea? No I haven't heard this from anywhere. No I don't think it's on the horizon. Yes I would love it and think it would be a great idea. Yes I think it would be a success. Lastly and most importantly, I think one of the schools would kill it because it happened with the north star cup, but allowed to dream.
I would love to see a "minndakota" tournament. There are now 8 teams in Minnesota and the Dakotas (UND, MSU, SCSU, UMD,BSU, MN, Augie, and st thomas). It could be set up as an annual tournament seeded by last year's results. The location could be rotated around the region or just be in the twin cities. The tourney could be set up to guarantee everyone 3 games so it wouldn't screw up anyone's schedule and short them of a fame for their season. It would be great for fans. And if its an annual event prople could plan yearly tickets like the old final five. I'm sure the players would love it. It would be greal for recruiting. It would be great for tv. The only problem is it would require 8 schools, 8 head coaches and 8 sets of administrators to buy in.
Thoughts?
The MinneKota Cup!

Can't remember the last time we had so many award winning recruits in the USHL. Blake, McLaughlin, James, Strathman, Perron all with all USHL or all rookie.
-
Not sure if we offered, but Leo Gruba to Cloud. Both parents are alum, not a surprise.

To any current players who read this, some names to use: Painting Sue, Mower Throwers, and many more.

Antti Tuomisto leaves DU after his sophomore season to sign a pro deal in Finland.
Watch the replay below of Hain's goal ending their season last year in the NCHC semi. Tuomisto took a VERY stupid penalty to give us a PP, and after the goal he coasts across the ice and slams his stick.

Corporations in MN are willing to pay higher taxes to pay harder workers less money than they would have to elsewhere. Minneapolis is the American middle class's last stand.

Augustana already in the CCHA, assumedly. Would be a shock if it's Lindenwood or an entirely new program.

2 for Oshie so far tonight

Stech again

Trevor Moore and Troy Stecher with LA's two goals so far tonight.

Wonder why he only played 8 games last season?
Wrist injury and then knee injury.

Jason Smallidge is a right hand D with NCHC experience, and as a MN resident gets a discount on tuition in lieu of a scholarship.

Tyson Dyck up to 110 in final scouting ranking. Any other uncommitted prospects ranked?

Curious what Portz's thoughts are about Brendan Phelps, who coached him prior to UND. This has potential to be a train wreck for that organization and league. Hopefully he catches a good beat down.
