I cheered so hard against Gopher Dave Spehar in the day I worry I may burst into flames cheering for his son. Willing to try.
Who's "Frank". (I'm not keeping up on all these lists lately.)
November 9, 1996 at the old John. First Sioux game I ever attended. Rookie Dave Spehar scored and the place erupted. Gophers won 10-6. Lots of goals, scrums and jawing. Old time hockey during the lull between the North Stars and Wild.
My friend and I got a kick out of the elderly couple in the front row with Sioux jerseys that spent the whole game standing and pounding on the glass. Passionate doesn't begin to describe them.
Getting young Spehar after Dave spurned Duluth would be great.

Why are we talking about a player that never played at UND?
The most widely circulated photo of him is in a suite at the Ralph. He's forever tied to the school.

What did the father do?
Forget the details but he was charged with assaulting his other son's soccer coach.

The mother's actions are causing further harm to her son by not letting anyone move on. Thanks to her, everyone he ever meets will know what happened to him as a middle schooler, and that he was raised by two vengeful lunatics (recalling the story about his dad being banned from coaching sports).

Race is part of the story, and it's great for UND that he could talk to a fellow athlete for reassurance that he has no reason to worry about being uncomfortable in Grand Forks. Seth Jones decided he wanted to live in Portland instead, would a talk like this have tilted him in UND's direction?
Let whoever take it however, we're just observers on the internet.

Wow, first west coast* blue chip since Rocco.
As tempting as it will be to make NWA references with him born in Compton, he's undoubtedly heard it his entire life.

I am willing to forgive Schloss. He’s kind of the GOAT when it comes to college hockey. We’re human, everyone makes mistakes. My wife reminds me all of the time when I am wrong.
I agree, as would most on here who benefit so much from his hard work, skill and experience. Not everyone in the hockey world will be as willing to do so.
Wouldn't surprise me to hear he has a source saying Bump was shopping around and erroneously jumped to a conclusion. There has to be a reason he was fishing like that.

That was my exact thought as well.

He had one sentence too many in his tweet. Not a good look for him, he's usually good about confirming stuff.

Cole Bumgarner who will play for Rogers this season after spending last year at Benilde and the previous year at Shakopee.
Sheesh. Makes Kiefer Bellows look like a homesteader.

Looks like an 08 visited on June 1st.

Speaking of Moorhead, is Mason Kraft to Dinkytown pretty much expected?

Anyone got any UND hockey road trips planned for this upcoming season? -My wife and I are kicking around the idea of going to Boston for the BU series and perhaps the CC road series at Mariucci and of course, the UND series at CC and DU.
Flight to MSP booked April 10-16. Hope to see them then!

Feels like not that long ago Curtis Murphy retired after a long career overseas, but now his son is on Brad's top 20 Aug 1 prospects.
-
Can't imagine Britt not seeing ice right away. Experience is what matters on the back end right now.

Michigan's new coach wants to improve Yost.

Unrelated, but both Ethan Bowen and Ryder Donovan were slated to skate there last year and neither did. Donovan is playing for UST this year, seems like Bowen retired.

This a good thread on some Aug 1 targets for the Gophers, many of whom we share.

Tax dodgers?
Nevada has no income tax, California has absurd income tax. If you're in Northern California and about to get an IPO/buy out/etc windfall, 20% down on a residence in Stateline will more than pay for itself.

The ECHL is moving a team to Reno.
A long shot for Nevada (Not a fan of them called Nevada-Reno) to add a team.
It's actually going to be in Stateline, NV. Lots of casinos and income tax dodgers on the southeast corner of the lake.

College Hockey Expansion
in Men's Hockey
Posted
Reports of how pitiful the PAC 12 media deal is pretty much confirm Oregon and Washington to the Big Ten. Would love to see college hockey in northwest; USA hockey is practically uninvolved in the CHL-saturated landscape.
