  1. Starman: "North Dakotas team speed is not that great." Is UNDs lack of skill that obvious to everyone?
  2. If I've learned anything from Hennessy, it's that people say mean things on the internet.
  3. I see now Big A HG beat me to the punch.
  4. The $6 Million isn't just for the scoreboard. It's for the scoreboard, new start of the art LED lighting system, HD cameras, 33 new LED displays above the entrances, and a new fascia ring. And the REA only had to pay $2 Million. And guess what?! That two million will easily pay for itself over the lifetime of the equipment. Things like these increase revenue ad potential for the arena. Things like these keep the fans coming back to the games. NCHC.tv subscriptions could even increase because of the TV viewing experience will be improved with the reduced glare and higher quality HD broadcasts. But hey, let's give it to the athletic department, because we all know what they like to do with extra money.....lose two million a year on womens hockey!
  5. Did the Yotes put the 3rd stringers in?
  6. I dont know if it's online. But you can call Jody. He's a nice guy. He can fill you in.
  7. Thanks for proving my point. The REA has a goal they want to hit. No minimum is written in the contract.
  8. Yup. A private donation. Thanks again to Kris McGarry.
  9. The Ralph built the basketball and volleyball teams a new arena. How much can they complain? Locker rooms and scoreboard were majority donations. How can they complain?
  10. Certainly don't blame her. Especially after Kennedy defamed her deceased father.
  11. Lol. Fill me in. What's the contract say is the minimum? Oh wait there is non. REA aims for $500,000. Or in layman's terms. If average attendance decreases by 500 a game, "Sorry, no $500,000 "profit" this year."
  12. Because the Ralph obviously wants to do their best to help UND the best they can. So they try and to give what they can at the end of the year. But it can be as low as $1,000 if they wanted. There is no set amount they have to donate to UND.
  13. Yes it could. And of course it's a donation to UND athletics. That's what non profits do with their excess capital.
  14. Who is to say who draws the line? They are free to spend their money however they want. Especially when it will only cost the arena a fraction of the actual cost thanks to the donation. It's almost like women's hockey. UND gets grief for having started and trying to have it vs all the schools that never tried. The Ralph could keep all the extra money in reserve and not donate anything to UND if they so pleased. If they had done that in previous years, I guess we wouldn't be having this discussion.
  15. Profits. Not expenses. "UND would have gotten the money but the building decided to pay its employees/fix a leaky roof."
  16. For reference, here is the renderings of the new Northeastern scoreboard that was referenced in Schlossman's article.
  17. Says the guy with a picture of Notre Dame highlighted on his Twitter page, a school with one of the biggest athletic budgets in the world, but doesn't have women's hockey. I guess that means the only real travesty here was UND was one of those few universities that took a chance on women's hockey. Which now McMahon shows the world: "Hey, it's best not to try."
  18. I was wrong. The Ralph Engelstad Arena just confirmed they are indeed keeping the Fighting Sioux Logo on the bottom of the scoreboard.
  19. They should swap the SOG in place of the actual score.
  20. It's on their upgrade list. Probably the next "big purchase."
