  1. That's the kind of goal that would make someone like Watzisnaem "Perky" Sparko say, " .... seev. Mek heem luke as fool. Score beeg goal. Help me go Ehn-Aych-Ell. Mek beeg moneez."
  2. CC and Wisconsin are in about the same position: They return just about everyone except for their #1 goalie. (CC - McElhenney; UW - Br
  3. I only have what my eyes tell me, that is true. However, I don't think you'd like to have someone get the actual numbers (scans) to see how many of the 2200 student seats are used by students on average. I don't believe it would help the case for the students. But let's be clear on one thing: I'm speaking of today's situation, what I've witnessed. Your reply seems to speak from the POV of if they assigned four student reserved sections in the lower.
  4. You guys both just made The List.
  5. Hey, we beat those two in one weekend. When does our Beanpot Trophy get here?
  6. Let's be honest: Although on most nights 108 and 109 are as full as the season ticket sections, the students don't fill 307-310 regularly. Four in the lower for the students would show empty seats on television unless that's all the students had (four sections).
  7. You guys have almost defined a "modified lottery" system here: - you have to show up to a "course" or session to learn what is expected behavior (when standing is appropriate, "no cursing", school songs, etc.), and the course is scheduled for a Saturday night, just like a hockey game - at the end of this course you sign your name to get the application for lower bowl season tickets (the uppers stay as GAs for the students that choose not to take this approach) - you fill out the application and have a week to turn it back in (none accepted that day because not taking it then filters out more of the "for show" crowd; the die-hards will return it) The application: - Standard UND info (name, NAID, etc.) - Did you have seats last year? Where? - Are you on track to graduate? (sophomores have 30+ credits, juniors have 60+ credits, seniors have 90+ credits, and so forth) - Your requested seat location in the lower (no guarantees). Say two sophomores are "tied" for the last lower seat: Use the door scanners records to see who went to more games as a freshman. All the information is there. Use it.
  8. It's not "host" but "Rider" mentioned near hockey at all. A lot of folks have pondered one of the "Philly Five" adding DI hockey. Rider is not that far away from Philly hockey crowds. Would they strap on the DI blades? The Philly Five: Drexel, St. Joe's, Penn, Temple, La Salle
  9. Why should PCM when examples have already been given: I'm sure the youth in question collected and brought empties to leave in the park.
  10. Did that say "Niagra/Rider" as host in Philly? Rider? They don't have DI hockey, or will they?
  11. Yeah, that one. But you forgot the rest: You no Ehn-Aych-Ell! You mek no beeg moneez!
  12. Is there a way to search Sioux sightings on GPL v. Skippy sightings on SiouxSports.com too?
  13. Folks, the Sioux fans in Columbus were praised by UND and the other fans there. What are the characteristics of those fans? - I didn't hear the "other team introductions" chant* - I did see the crowd stand and cheer during breaks and at key times, but - I did see Sioux fans sitting so those around them could see at other times - And could you ever hear those Sioux fans So how do we get that behavior standard in REA? * There's fertile ground for something new and creative there.
  14. In Arizona, watching the game with alumni and working them for donations for things like student scholarships.
  15. Oh dear Parise! A sane, rational post by Diggler! Hold it, who are you, and how'd you get Diggler's password? Bottom line: Neither side has held up their end of the last deal. Proof 1: The students asked for song lyrics on the electronics last time. In Columbus more Sioux fans knew the lyrics to the "Beer Barrel Polka" than to "Fight on Sioux" or "Stand Up and Cheer". Proof 2: The use of certain cheers continues even when efforts were to be made to change or eliminate them.
  16. Reality: Dr. Kupchella has asked for a clean-up of the vocabulary. (It's not just him, it's across the whole NCAA.) It hasn't happened. I'm sure he's frustrated. He has few options left. Guess what. He just threatened one. Reality: The students were promised some things the last time that haven't come to pass either (more use of the electronics to lead cheers, school songs on the electronics, etc.). Students have the right to be frustrated. Hint to students: You could fix swearing by coming up with something new instead and using the electronics to roll it out. Reality: More student seats in the lower bowl isn't going to happen. Why not? Because the students are not filling what they have today (107, 108, 307-310) today on a consistent basis. Reality: Reseating is a distinct possibility. Why? Students in a corner section could stand and not block as many sightlines (but some would still be a problem). Plus, UND and REA would get center ice "money" seats out of the deal.
  17. You mean this article that you can't link to?
  18. Assuming ftnsiouxhockey is correct, let's see ... Considering I had to only add an exhibition and two non-conference games, but those games are in a pre-season tournament (and as such don't count against the "season maximum" number of games) I think I have the "rivals schedule" figured out.
  19. There are quite a few 12 team conferences out there. It makes scheduling pretty simple for some sports. In football you split into two six-team divisions and play the five you're with and half of the other: instant eight-game schedule. If teams only played 10 games, you play a "championship" game between divisions for the eleventh game. Heck, you could just play within your conference and have 11 games. (The GLIAC is very close to that.) In basketball you play the other 11 teams twice each: 22 game basketball schedule. Having that in hand makes budgeting for travel every year pretty straight-forward.
  20. Now jloos is into the clouding with fact and reality gig.
