HockeyMom
As well as the Sioux played this afternoon, I really believe that they can play better. I think that every other team in the country should be very afraid of UND right now. We're the team to beat. Goepfert did not look like Hobey Baker material this afternoon. Sorry, but he just didn't. He let a lot of rebounds fly in front of the goal. I could see Toews' first goal hit the back of the net before he saw it. I was glad to see the black Nike Swift jerseys when the boys hit the ice. I can't wait until tomorrow night! GO FIGHTING SIOUX!!!!
mikejm
Apparently the third-place game is just as important to Bob Motzko as it is to Lucia: this from the USCHO game wrap-up: SCSU cannot fall below a No. 2 seed in any scenario, and Motzko was waiting to learn more before making decisions on whether to rest players in the third-place game. "Next week is way more important than tomorrow [afternoon's] game," he added. Spoken like a true (ex)Gopher.
redwing77
who should we root for...wisc or minn....or does it matter..? Maybe the WCHA should simply get rid of the 3rd place game then. If it isn't worth anything to the teams than obviously there is no need to play the game. Congrats to UW for going from finishing 7th in the WCHA to 3rd Place. Congrats to SCSU for squandering a 2nd place finish by finishing 4th. Guess it isn't all that bad for them.
GeauxSioux
Patrick Reusse: Sioux making habit of mediocre starts, sizzling finishes T hey can continue the fight to validate Fighting Sioux as a nickname, or they could become the Big Green, or go back to being the Flickertails, but whatever they call themselves, these North Dakota hockey players are developing a very favorable pattern with coach Dave Hakstol.
