Marff
Not to dig up old, bad memories, but what year was it that Wisconsin got similar goals (half ice or so) on consecutive nights to knock UND out of WCHA playoffs? As I remember, both were overtime and one at the very end of second overtime. Anyone with better memory?
lawkota
The year was 1995-96. First round of WCHA playoffs. Wisco 6-5 (OT) on Friday and 5-4 (2OT) on Saturday. I think it was the Saturday game that was decided by a dump-in goal from the red line or further. Toby Kvalevog was goalie.
GeauxSioux
In 1983 UND was knocked out at home in OT against Wisconsin. I don't recall it being similar to the Bina goal, but they did score shorthanded. They scored the apparent game winner only to have it negated by a curved stick ruling. They were then shorthanded due to the penalty for the curved stick and scored. Wisconsin went on to win the NCAA championship in GF that year. I was sitting next to the Wisconsin bench and remember the Wisconsin goalie, Kleissinger or Behrend?, yelling at the Sioux fans as they went through the tunnel.
