forecheck Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 They must have stopped counting after regulation because I thought the announcers said that Wisconsin has 53 shots after 5 periods. Maybe I heard wrong. Oh maybe. I just got back from walking my dog and checked the NCAA tracker, and that's what they listed for shots. (I didn't mistake them for goals this time at least!) Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted March 27, 2006 Author Posted March 27, 2006 St. Lawrence/BU game last 123:53, so they have a period to play yet before they catch the record. Quote
Sioux_Hab-it Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I thought the BU-SLU game in 2000 (I think) was the longest NCAA tourny game. Wasn't that one like 4 OT's? I remember leaving the Pepsi center in Albany after the 1st OT (had to work in the morning) and when I got home in Hartford (1.5 hours later) the game was still going. Who knows with some of the announcers and analysts they dug out this year, but that is what they announced anyway. Maybe they meant to say longest scoreless game. Quote
forecheck Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 ESPN News just tapped into the game. Thanks for posting that Quote
SiouxTupa Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! It's even an EASTERN team!!! Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted March 27, 2006 Author Posted March 27, 2006 Robbie's all cramped up again this weekend. Weak! Quote
Sioux_Hab-it Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Earl is pathetic crawling off the ice with a supposed case of leg cramps. Quote
forecheck Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Earl is pathetic crawling off the ice with a supposed case of leg cramps. In all fairness, he's probably logged a lot of ice time. I can't say I wouldn't be cramping up too....although I'm not exactly what you would call in game shape. Quote
Goon Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I believe it is Bowling Green and UMD in the national Championship game. From the UMD Athletic site: March 24, 1984. Making its inaugural appearance in the finals of the NCAA Championships, Minnesota-Duluth falls 5-4 in four overtimes to Bowling Green in Lake Placid, NY. The 97-minute, 11-second game was, at the time, the longest in NCAA post-season history. Freshman goaltender Rick Kosti turns back a tournament-record 55 shots in the setback. Quote

UMDDogz Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I believe it is Bowling Green and UMD in the national Championship game. From the UMD Athletic site: Yeah, that's the longest title game by far. Never before or since has a title game lasted more than 83 minutes. FYI they played 10 minute overtimes...that's how they fit 7 periods into 97:11 Quote
UMDDogz Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Perhaps they meant to say longest scoreless game. I'm sure that's what they meant. Not even close to longest tourney game yet. Quote
UMDDogz Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Wisconsin wins. 1-0! bout time. The Big Red always seems to lose its offense in these tourney games. How many scoreless or 1-1 OT games have we seen them in these past few years? Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted March 27, 2006 Author Posted March 27, 2006 Jack Skille gets the game winner. Quote
UMDDogz Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Nope, hit the post. WHAT? under review? I have no feed at all! What's goin ON?? Quote
Goon Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Wisconsin wins. 1-0! Who scored for the Badgers? Quote
forecheck Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 YES! In one of the rare moments that the video feed didn't stop to buffer, I caught the announcers talking about players dealing to get 2 min roughing for a break. "Deal or no deal." I immediately thought of our inhouse celebrity, MafiaMan SCORE Wisconsin! Quote
