THat, though it isn't a new coach (He was an assistant at UAF before UNO), makes yet another former Sioux player who has found himself behind the bench. My question is: How many former UND players are currently among the coaching ranks (Head coach, associate, assistant, or other coaching positions) of DI or higher organizations (pros)? I know all of the current Sioux coaching staff are former Sioux players, Sandelin is coach of UND, Kallay an assistant, Marks a head coach in the ECHL, but who else? sprig Posted August 6, 2004 Share Posted August 6, 2004 Tippet at Dallas, too many to remember, but many that started as players under Gino, Blais have had much success at all levels in the coaching ranks. Scottie's asst at MDU (Lee Davidson) is also a former Sioux. The Sioux are deep in coaches working at all levels, makes selecting new coaches when one leaves favorable for the Sioux. Noone here, however, has an opinion on who or how the selections should be made Nice to see many of them getting experience at other DI venues, as well as in the junior ranks. Old Barn Guy at Home Posted August 9, 2004 Share Posted August 9, 2004 Tarek coaches the Grand Forks Central Knights (that's in North Dakota, by the way).
