Another opportunity for a road win slipped away from UND, but this one hurt a little more against a less than stellar MSU squad.  UND looks to turn their fortunes around at home against Idaho.

It was going to be their year last year.  With a great 1-2 punch at guard and a team coming off back to back runs to the BSC Semis, there was the believe that their time had come.  The start wasn't great but then the rally.  A 2nd place finish the Big Sky. It was right there for the taking.....

Then SUU happened in the BSC Quarters

How does SUU keep ruining these dreams.. seriously?

Now with their superstar guards gone, its a rebuild mode for Idaho... and it hasn't been pretty this year so far with a loss to D2 Northwest Nazarene on their resume.  While there might be some good pieces on this team, it might get worst before it gets better for Idaho.

Key player: Cameron Tyson (6'3 Freshman)

Could this kid be the next great guard for Idaho?  He certainly has lived up to the filling so far, averaging 17 ppg so far and is shooting an eyepopping 57% from 3.  It appears that is really all he does for this squad is hit 3s and hasn't done a whole lot else but do that.   Going to be a person that UND keeps an eye on

X-Factors: Scott Blakney, Jared Rodriguez, and Marquell Fraser

You must be thinking, wait.. why do you have 3 people on as your x-factors, that seems a lot.  Well it is, but there is a reason for this.  Blakney and Rodriguez are the post that are currently averaging around 10 points and 6 rebounds a game.  Fraser is a 6'4 guard that has returned and is the teams reading rebounder!  UND cannot have a performance like they did against MSU if they want to win this one, they need to be at worst dead even at the board.  Avants, Rebraca, Jal, Walter, and Marko need to be on their games.

Numbers:

13 - number of 3 pointers than UND made against MSU

-12 rebounding margin against MSU

27 - Points away that Avants is from 1000 in his career

Keys Questions

1) Can UND win the rebounding battle?

2) Can UND duplicate their shooting performance?

3) Is this a blip or a trend for Billy Brown?

4) Can the freshman posts get going again?

The call:

I think it will be home sweet home for UND, I expect a rebound performance (no pun intended) from Rebraca and the rest of the post players and another decent shooting performance from the team.  Still winnable ball games left in this stretch and can get some good feeling back going.  Keep Idaho off the board and they should win by ten

UND 81-71
