Is this true???

I have heard that at the Mankato series from a couple of friends that they were denied access to the bars.  And were actually told that they could not drink in the concourses.  And that there are too many "Young" people drinking in this place and they are of age.  That is strange because on Friday I went to the bar with the organ and got right in, no problem.  I know they are screwing us so much that we can't drink at our seats, which is understandable.  But if they are now telling us that we can't drink at the bars and even in the concourses, what the ####.  This is a frickin college arena, and without students there would be no team.  Nice one UND

If this crap is going to continue I am going to demand my money back for my student season tickets.  This is pathetic

I believe there is some confusion regarding when non-club seat holders can enter the club rooms.  I have been denied access before the start of a game also.  I also know that the arena does not want people drinking in the concourses.  I don't know why.  I believe you are jumping the gun in assuming that what is happening is only happening to students.  It isn't.  Also, technically, UND has nothing to do with how the arena is run.

And yes, without the students there wouldn't be a team.  Wouldn't be a university for that matter.  But you could say the exact same thing about:  generous alumni and friends, faculty and staff, and the taxpayers of the state of ND.

Drinking in the concourses?

Trust me, I'm old enough to be your ... older brother :) I've been asked to go into the Club Room or to my seat. It's not a big deal. I just think of it as being in a Canadian bar with some of those (goofy) standards of conduct.

And yes, there are times when non-Club Seat holders can not go into the Club Rooms. I've been told "no go" because I'm in one of the Sections. Did they ask "why?" when they weren't admitted or did they just assume they were being "beaten down by the MAN!"

When they asked they were told that there are too many young people in the bar,  meaning College students.  The reason why I put UND is because it should be since this is a frickin college arena, not an NHL wannabe which they wish it was with all the overcommercialism.  It is just a curse to the students and the team.

Well if we can't drink in the new rink anyways according to some that have been kicked out what difference does it make.  But if they are going to be selling liqour at the arena then ####'t sell it to the legal college students and don't kick us out.  And yes UND does have a say in this matter.  They own the land so I would assume that they would have something to do with what is sold.

Do you know how much money the arena can make selling beer. I would be very surprised if they changed the beer and bar deal after the University took over the arena. However, UND may never get the arena either. These people keep messing with Ralph no telling what he will do...

I think it is funny when you hear all of these pro UND name change people talking about just wait till UND gets the arena from Ralph you see, the name will fall like a stone. There will no longer be beer at the arena.

You are missing the point I am trying to make.  All I am pissed off about is that if they are going to kick the legal college students out of the bar, then why have one since afterall it is a college team in a college arena with college fans.  Great sell all the beer you want to make money or whatever, but sell it to the students too, don't rape us like you are so many other things.  And if they truly wanted to make it an NHL arena all they would have to do is walk up and down the stairs yelling "Cold Beer Here."  Now come on I don't see that happeneing either.  The point is that they are shafting the students, dry as they can.

I see it this way...Last year, we couldn't drink beer at the games at all.  This year, we can.  That's better than nothing.  I don't know why your friends were told what they were told, but it seems that maybe they just went to the wrong bar at the wrong time.  Were they asked for IDs or anything?  What were the actual circumstances in which they were told they were not allowed to drink at the games?  It seems like there must be something more going on here.
