SFSIOUX#1
I think it is time to bring Siembeda back!!!!! Of course, I am kidding. For what it is worth, I thought the goaltending was above average this year and in the playoffs. You win most games when you allow only one goal and get 30+ shots against your opponent. Had the Sioux managed to get a couple in against Denver this would not even be an issue.

Goon
Shep, only time will tell who's right or wrong. Next season, if a goalie clearly establishes himself as being better and more consistent than the others, I'm confident that Blais will have no problem with making him as the number-one goalie. I won't go out on a limb and say who it will be. I could see either Parise or Brandt stepping into that role. And maybe Phil Lamoureux will come in and blow them both out of the water. For that matter, Blais, Brandt and Parise were all saying that Nate Ziegelmann could have stepped in and played well. Looking ahead, I think it's safe to say that goaltending should not be an issue going into next season. PCM, Since your the USCHO arena reporter: Care to speculate how many goalies UND has come season opener. I was wondering if you had any theory or speculation on how many UND will carry on its roster? Just wondering. I remember this last season UND didn't keep 4 around and Marc Ranfranz was cut from the roster.
tboneund
I agree with PCM, goaltending is a non-factor next year and I look forward to seeing all of the goalies getting some time. I would like to see Brandt more often, but Parise, Lammy, and Ziggy all have the ability to do great things for next year's team.

I was wondering if you had any theory or speculation on how many UND will carry on its roster? I can speculate, but it doesn't necessarily mean anything. Blais said having four goalies was too many because they all couldn't get enough shots in practice. Three this season did seem to work better than four last season. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
redwing77
What is the rule on redshirting? Although I don't think this would happen, I'd think it would work out of Ziggy could redshirt this season. Then Brandt graduates and we're down to three young (academically) goaltenders who are all solid (judging by USHL numbers for Lammy anyways). Ziggy played in some games and he would only be elgible for a medical redshirt and I don't believe he received any injuries.

jloos
Ziggy played in some games and he would only be elgible for a medical redshirt and I don't believe he received any injuries. Wasn't the U18 exhibition game the only one he played? I don't think it matters since he dressed i.e. was on the roster for several games. I believe when Ziggy was at Lincoln he and Lammy split time 50/50 so those two are familiar with competing against each other. Another interesting fact is Lincoln's back up goalie this year was Aaron Walski from Fargo North - the goalie that dueled with NZ in the multi OT championship game a few years back.
