The Sicatoka
Ray77 and I have been collaborating (conniving?) another game for the SC playoffs for 2018. We're prototyping it this year. Watch and see Ray kick my < bleep >. We'll explain scoring as we go, but here's our opening round picks. The Sicatoka
Your first look at scoring given that ANA over CGY in 5 ANA 4 5 6 7 7 6 5 4 CGY Ray picked ANA in 5; it was ANA in 4; he's off by one slot in that number line so Ray picked up 1 stroke. I picked ANA in 5 also, so I too have 1 stroke. As other series close we'll explain scoring further.
cberkas
Why not just do the thing Commodore does during the Masters with + and - of players in the playoffs.

That's a "player" game like this one here: pick a roster, get their points. (Commy does +/- not points.) This is a based on team/series/games picks. The Sicatoka
Well PIT dispatched CBJ in 5. Ray had PIT in 6; I had PIT in 7. PIT 4 5 6 7 7 6 5 4 CBJ Ray missed by one slot so he takes a stroke plus his prior for 2 total. I missed by two slots so I take two strokes plus my prior makes 3 total for me. The Sicatoka
Ray had CHI in 5; I had CHI in 6. It is NAS in ... 4. CHI 4 5 6 7 7 6 5 4 NAS Ray missed by six slots and had the wrong team so points double: 12. Add is prior 2 for 14. I missed by five slot and had wrong team: 10 points. Add my prior 3 for 13. So through three "holes" in this "Masters" Ray has 14 strokes to my 13 strokes.
The Sicatoka
Ray had MIN in 6; I had STL in 6; it was STL in 5. MIN 4 5 6 7 7 6 5 4 STL I missed by one slot (+1) so I'm at 14. Ray missed by 4 but wrong team so +8, so he's at 22.
The Sicatoka
Ray had NYR in 7; I had MON in 7; it was NYR 6. Ray missed by a slot, 1, so totals 23. I missed by two but wrong team, so +4, for 18.
The Sicatoka
Ray and I both had EDM in 7; it was EDM in 6. We both take a point: Ray 24, me 19.
The Sicatoka
Ray and I both had BOS in 6; it was OTT in 6. BOS 4 5 6 7 7 6 5 4 OTT That's 3 slots, wrong team, +6 for both. The Sicatoka: 25 Ray 77:
The Sicatoka
We both had WAS in 5; it was WAS in 6. One slot so both +1 End of the first round, The Sicatoka leads Ray77 26 to 31. Ray77: Please check my math.

Ray77
Looks good to me....errr.....let me change that.....looks correct to me. It doesn't look good - me being down by 5 "strokes"! I'm going to have to do some major homework and nail my 2nd round picks to catch up.

The Sicatoka
WAS in 7 NAS in 6 ANA in 5 NYR in
Ray77
I made my picks before coming out here and seeing yours. I see that we have all the same teams winning each series, just in different number of games. I'll have to make up my 5 strokes little by little! WEST Nashville over St. Louis in 7 Anaheim over Edmonton in 6 EAST NY Rangers over Ottawa in 6 Washington over Pittsburgh in

cberkas
No matter how you pick the winner you can only "ace" or end up with a positive number.
The Sicatoka
True. Scoring is more stroke play - ish. You're accumulating "strokes" and are gunning for lowest score.
The Sicatoka
I had NYR in 5; Ray had NYR in 6; it was OTT in 6 ... uh-oh ... NYR 4 5 6 7 7 6 5 4 OTT I missed by 4 slots and wrong team so +8 for me. Ray missed by 3 slots and wrong team so +6 for him. The Sicatoka now leads Ray77 34 to 38. Well, that pulled me 2 strokes closer... Possible scenarios for tonight (let me know if these numbers aren't correct): Anaheim wins - Sic +2, Ray +1 Edmonton wins - Sic +6, Ray +4 Washington wins - Sic +0, Ray +1 Pittsburgh wins - Sic +2, Ray +
The Sicatoka
Those are the scenarios.
The Sicatoka
PIT over WAS in 7. (I had WAS in 7, Ray had WAS in 6.) As Ray said, that's Sic +2, Ray +4. The Sicatoka now leads Ray77 36 to 42.
