All desert, a few mtns. and casinos, and 120 in the summer. But at least it's a hour from civilization (LA burbs). So did you visit the maximum security state prison a few miles down the 10? There's a rest area on the same exit. Just a few blocks away. I take it you're not a fan of the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area. It's a great place for a confirmed (golf) hacker like to me spend a week. Drove by the casino back and forth to the airport, but didn't want to ruin my perfect record of never entering a casino. 75 and sunny during the winter months is perfect for me, but I agree it's intolerable in the summer. Though the golfing is a lot better and it's a lot cleaner than any city in Nevada. I just cruise through on my way to Phoenix. Palm Desert and then a city on the border is it for the 5 hour trip. I picked up the Star Trib and the headline of the Sports seciton is "SENIORS LEAVE ON A HIGH NOTE" that is the Senior Basketball players. The Gopher hockey team ahad a small story on the front page about Ryan Potulny ( Grand Forks NAtive) coming back after a knee injury to play with brother Grant in the Play-offs. Minnesto maybe the "State of Hockey" for playing and produing great players but as far as media coverage it is the state of confuision.
