What's the future of the Fighting Sioux icon

So will there come a time when those with the Sioux logo will be shunned? Please don't turn this into a "If UND bans the logo they'll never see another dime from me" thread. Just wondering if it can transition to a piece of history peacefully. Will items with the Sioux logo become valuable collectors items? Can you see anyone in Grand Forks driving around in this in 5 years (see attachment).

UND, per the settlement agreement, has to maintain their trademark and ownership rights of the logo. To do that they must periodically (whatever that means) use it in commerce. You'll see "legacy collection" stuff with the old name and logo come out at some frequency. 

 

Shunned? By some; others will see it as history and smile a somber smile of the past.

For an older van, that doesn't have a lot of miles on it.
