Fedorov Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 Thanks for the good work as always. It is great to hear that CB didn't say anything about a split. He wants and expects to sweep. My only concern is the continued goalie rotation. Quote
PCM Posted January 22, 2004 Author Posted January 22, 2004 Blais didn't say this, but if Brandt plays well Friday, I wouldn't be surprised to see him start Saturday, too. Quote
Fedorov Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 I hope that is a case. The only time I ever remember CB sticking with Brandt is when he had the four shutouts in a row. Now would be a good time to start another streak like that. Quote
schmidtdoggydog Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 Blais didn't say this, but if Brandt plays well Friday, I wouldn't be surprised to see him start Saturday, too. He intimated as much last weekend by basically saying that the rotation is working, but one of the two is bound to get on a hot streak and if it is Jake he is going to play him. Quote
Fedorov Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 CB must still be holding out hope for Brandt, because having a shutout would seem like a good start to a hot streak. Quote
PCM Posted January 22, 2004 Author Posted January 22, 2004 It makes a lot of sense to start Brandt. He's a junior with more experience and he beat the Gophers on the road last season. He also stole a game on the road against SCSU. This is a chance for Jake to really prove himself. Quote
NorthDakotaHockey Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 Great summary PCM. Thanks for the report. Now, can you get me two tickets for the Saturday game? Quote
SiouxTupa Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 That was a great summary, and I enjoy reading them, so thank you. I honestly would consider Jordan Parise for Friday, riding that 30-shot shutout effort against (yeah ok it was MTU) Tech. I agree with whatever CB decides though. He is the hockey mastermind, and I am just a peon. Hoping for a great series so no goaltending letdowns (yeah...for either side!) please. Quote
CoteauRinkRat Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 "Don't Eddie me" that is funny stuff Quote

Parise may have played very well the last game, but look at the media attention he is receiving in the Cities. I like playing Brandt first, because it takes the pressure off of Parise. Quote
cfm567b27 Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 Great summary PCM. Thanks for the report. Now, can you get me two tickets for the Saturday game? You can still buy Rush seats I believe. www.gophersports.com Quote
