Sioux Schedule for 2004

This quote from the Fargo Forum verifies earlier information that the 2004 Sioux schedule may be the most difficult in years:

Thomas said UND has eight games scheduled for next year -- six against North Central Conference teams and home games against Mesa State and Central Washington. Thomas said he’s had talks with Grand Valley State (Mich.), Edinboro University (Pa.) and Northwest Missouri State.
Kolpack also puts his typical anti-UND/pro-NDSU slant into the schedule issue with this quote:

UND’s non-conference opponents were Minnesota-Crookston, Mesa and Newberry College (S.C.). Crookston and Newberry finished a combined 5-16.

If he would have included Mesa St.'s, the combined non-conference opponent's record is 15-17, just barely under .500.

I know GV is looking to schedule another game because we only have 10 I believe. And only 4 of those 10 are home so we are looking for a good team to bring to Allendale. Wouldn't that be fun to play the team you played in the NC game the following season. Plus there is a chance we would play in the playoffs next year as well since the GLIAC is getting the shaft and being moved to the West region.

When you look at the last few years, some of the best teams have come from the NCC and GLIAC. Now they want them in the same region so they always knock each other out. What's the reason behind this move?

It is all political and the PSAC has soo much say in it. The PSAC is sick of losing playoff spots to GVSU and SVSU so they got the GLIAC moved. Doesn'y make sense that teams from as far east as Pennsylvania would play in the west region. Screw the PSAC, it isn't our fault the GLIAC is better.

Sounds frighteningly similar to the WCHA vs HEA debate, no?

What about TAMUK?  UND and TAMUK would be a great home and home series.  We have an opening for the last week of August.

From the AFCA site, UND's current open dates for 2004 are 9/4, 9/11, and 11/6.

Even a night game in Kingsville must be brutal. If we ever schedule an away game in Kingsville, it would have to be in November. :)

If the GLIAC is moving, who will be left in the NE region that would have any chance of making noise in Florence, IUP?
