Thomas said he’s had talks with Grand Valley State (Mich.), Edinboro University (Pa.) and Northwest Missouri State.Kolpack also puts his typical anti-UND/pro-NDSU slant into the schedule issue with this quote: UND’s non-conference opponents were Minnesota-Crookston, Mesa and Newberry College (S.C.). Crookston and Newberry finished a combined 5-16. If he would have included Mesa St.'s, the combined non-conference opponent's record is 15-17, just barely under .500. And only 4 of those 10 are home so we are looking for a good team to bring to Allendale. Wouldn't that be fun to play the team you played in the NC game the following season. Plus there is a chance we would play in the playoffs next year as well since the GLIAC is getting the shaft and being moved to the West region. When you look at the last few years, some of the best teams have come from the NCC and GLIAC. Now they want them in the same region so they always knock each other out. The PSAC is sick of losing playoff spots to GVSU and SVSU so they got the GLIAC moved. Doesn'y make sense that teams from as far east as Pennsylvania would play in the west region. From the AFCA site, UND's current open dates for 2004 are 9/4, 9/11, and 11/6. Even a night game in Kingsville must be brutal. Can you imagine playing during the day when the sun is fum throtle? That's why we would enjoy playing you guys in late August or Early Septemeber.
