star2city Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 UND's Canadian Studies Program This is the way the only Canadian studies program for thousands of kilometres in any direction gets started -- 20 students, three Canada-keener profs, and vague notions about the existence of a huge land mass somewhere to the north. The topic today is the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and University of North Dakota geography Prof. Doug Munski -- standing in front of a projection that varies from a demographic map of Canada to the StatsCan online home page -- is having trouble getting takers for discussion. OK, except for one guy named Matt who's obviously a really good student, but Munski wants the other 19 to get into what Preston Manning loved to call constitutional wrangling. Quote
GeauxSioux Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 I took a Geography of Manitoba class from Dr. Munski back in 1982. We had a field trip to Winnipeg and went to the Manitoba Museum and the Ukrainian Cultural Center. Stayed at Place Louis Riel and ate at Spaghetti Factory. We had a great time and I learned a lot about Manitoba. Dr. Munski was the best. Quote
bincitysioux Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Munski is awesome. Always tried to sign up for any of his classes that fit my schedule. Quote
