Siouxman
I received the following response from UW regarding my email about what a number of us thought was the UW announcer doing mock Indian chants during a commercial break. I am very glad to hear that what we heard was something else. End of story. After a conversation with our play-by-play announcer, we quickly realized that what you did hear was a 30-second radio spot from the Ho-Chunk Nation (attached), a proud sponsor of UW Athletics. You'll notice the "Indian chants" toward the end of the commercial. I checked our radio network log from Saturday, and the Ho-Chunk Nation spot ran in Network Break #6, the last break in the 3rd period. It is easy to understand how you may have mistaken this. Good luck to the Fighting Sioux the rest of the way. Cordially, Jeff Jurgella General Manager Badger Sports Properties
