Guinn scores 1,000th point, UND topples Sioux Falls 108-44

The University of North Dakota women's basketball team drained a season-high 15 three pointers en route to a 108-44 victory over Sioux Falls on Tuesday night at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Senior captain Danye Guinn (G, St. Francis, Minn.) scored a game-high 17 points to become the 27th Fighting Sioux player to reach the 1,000-point club.

Guinn, who was one of six Sioux players to reach double figures, also added a team-high seven assists as UND accounted for a season-best 28 helpers on 37 made field goals.

Attendance was 1596. Not bad for a middle of the week game against a lower division team.

Unfortunately, that sounds like it is the end of her playing days! Sad deal!

Sad deal, no doubt. She hurt it the first time in Dec. of 07, she's playing on it in October of 08. 9 months seems a little quick for ACL tear. You wonder if she rushed it a little...............won't have to worry about that this time. Good kid, great family, let's hope for the best and that we'll see her in green and white in 2011.

With Privatsky out, I have a feeling Jossy Bergan playing as many as 39 minutes in a game, as she did against USD, will now be the norm. She certainly had a nice game against the Coyotes.

Hope you're wrong but who else can play there? They could move Guinn back there if they had too but they aren't playing for anything but pride so what's the sense in that? Guinn has had a good year on wing. Might see Seay get a few more minutes, she's been pretty quiet the last month.

I was running late to the USD game and on the radio pregame interview Roebuck mentioned moving LaFrance back to point. She had played it in high school, but was being used as a small forward here at UND.

LaFrance is one of the better ball-handlers and passers on the team, but I rather see her used at the 2 or 3 spot because of her rebounding abilities. The PG generally has to get back on defense and doesn't get many offensive boards. Bergan played 39 minutes against SD, so if she can handle being in most of the game (35 min or more) then LaFrance or Guinn could give her just a little break.
