SiouxMD Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 One year of the five year reclassification process is now in the books...only 1460 days to go until July 1, 2012. Let's see if we can find a link between the number of days remaining (ie 1460) and the University of North Dakota. I'll start: UND hockey can be heard on KLTC 1460 AM in Dickinson, ND. Quote
clh741 Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Wouldn't tomorrow be 1460, seeing as how 2012 is a leap year? Quote
SiouxMD Posted July 2, 2008 Author Posted July 2, 2008 Mineralogy of Asteroid 1459 Magnya and implications for its origin The Department of Space Studies at the University of North Dakota in conjunction with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Planetary Sciences Laboratory determined that Asteroid 1459 Magnya "originated from a parent body other than 4 Vesta and that its progenitor formed in a more chemically reduced region of the solar nebula within the asteroid belt." SiouxMD Posted July 2, 2008 Author Posted July 2, 2008 Wouldn't tomorrow be 1460, seeing as how 2012 is a leap year? I used an online countdown calendar so I wouldn't have to do the math... If you don't count the present day then you should have the following (as of 01JUL08): 02JUL2008 to 30JUN2009 364 days 01JUL2009 to 30JUN2010 365 days 01JUL2010 to 30JUN2011 365 days 01JUL2011 to 30JUN2012 366 days =1460 days remaining as of 01JUL2008 Quote
SiouxMD Posted July 3, 2008 Author Posted July 3, 2008 During the 2003-2004 academic year...the University of North Dakota had 1458 part-time graduate students. Quote
SiouxMD Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 On 03/10/2007...and with 14:57 remaining in the second half...Karla Beck steals the ball from Diana Lopez. UND would go on to defeat Regis University by the score of 78-63. Quote
SiouxMD Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 I won't have internet access for the next two days... As of 05JUL2008: Ryan Chappell rushed for 1456 yards during the 2007 football season. This was the #4 highest season total in UND history. As of 06JUL2008: 18APR1998...Jeremy Zimney (UND) wins the 110m hurdles at the University of North Dakota Invitational with a time of 14.55 seconds. Have a Happy 4th of July! Quote

Maybe my online countdown sites are incorrect, but it looks like June 30th, 2012 will be zero on the countdown. Shouldn't it be one, as in one day left until July 1, 2012? Quote
SiouxMD Posted July 7, 2008 Author Posted July 7, 2008 Continuing with the Karla Beck Show...on 11/25/05 she made a layup with 14:54 remaining in the second half to put the Sioux up 51-42. Kierah Kimbrough was credited with an assist. UND would go to beat Franklin Pierce by the score of 81-59. Quote

This is the countdown calendar I used...currently it reads 1454 days 10 hours and 30 minutes and some odd seconds remaining to July 1, 2012. If you want to count 10 hours 30 minutes and some odd seconds as a day then you are correct. GO SIOUX Quote
clh741 Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 When did Grand Forks move to GMT?? I'm just trying to prevent the inevitable zero day on June 30th. If you're fine with it, I'm fine with it. Quote

Nice catch. I switched it to Bismarck....Grand Forks wasn't an option. It is 1454 days, 12 hours, 33 minutes and 45 seconds until Sunday, July 1, 2012 (Bismarck time) BTW...it looks like I am the only one playing so only I will suffer the embarrassment of premature countdown syndrome. jimdahl Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 BTW...it looks like I am the only one playing so only I will suffer the embarrassment of premature countdown syndrome. I think it's highly amusing. My struggle is that I would work in the other direction -- rather than search to find something for 1454, I would go through lists of facts noting anything with a tie to a number under 1460, thus having a ready to go list. I'll probably invest some time trying to look for stuff between 1000-1450 soon. Quote

I'll probably invest some time trying to look for stuff between 1000-1450 soon. I have already started a numbers bank using the jimdahl method of statistical acruement. I have a triple today... On 2/12/05...Ashley Langen made a jumper (1)...was fouled (2)...and made the free throw (3) with 14:53 remaining in the second half contributing to a 84-49 victory over the Bulldogs of Duluth. Quote
jimdahl Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Ok, this isn't a perfect fit, but I'll try to squeeze this one in... 1452 On 3-11-67, Phil Jackson scored 52 points at Normal, Ill. (#2 all time). Quote
