  1. Seriously??? You're suggesting that Midco is national TV?
  2. Certainly true of some people. But, primarily because of NDSU, it's much less true than it was a few years ago.
  3. You do realize the nature of this message board don't you? If that's your attitude what in the world are you doing posting here at all? You have 1486 posts on this board. Wouldn't your time have been better spent doing other things?
  4. Clearly you weren't watching the Iowa State or Kansas State games on Fox One.
  5. Over the last 4 years NDSU football has been a much bigger deal than UND hockey by the measures that count -- nationwide and regional media exposure. In my opinion, with NDSU on Game Day twice and multiple regular season and playoff appearances on national TV, it's not even close. Add the NCAA Men's basketball tournament to the mix and NDSU has lapped UND.
  6. So, the exposure that NDSU received on Game Day doesn't count because the actual game wasn't broadcast nationally? Just another ridiculous sour grapes comment.
  7. How is saying that the FCS champ is in 129th place not saying that 128 (FBS) schools place ahead of the FCS champ?
  8. Just can't stop beating up FCS, and by extension UND's football team? The suggestion that every FBS team is ahead of every FCS team is absurd. No knowledgeable person outside of this website would say that. Take a look at the Sagarin ratings for instance. Sagarin rates NDSU one spot below Notre Dame for Christ's sake.
  9. You have a whole lot more UND fans belittling the football program.
  10. Now we're back to the old big fish in a small pond argument. There are more DI Hockey players in the NHL than there are FCS players in the NFL, but the NFL is an order of magnitude bigger and more popular league. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. At any rate, by traditional measures of popularity, FCS Football and college hockey are roughly equivalent. But, NDSU's current run in football combined with its recent success in the NCAA basketball tournament has, in my opinion, brought it a great deal more exposure than anything UND's athletic department has going. All you have to do is walk around Dallas wearing NDSU gear to see the effect of it.
  11. Now you want to change the argument. But again your argument is a non-sequitur. There is absolutely no relationship between the number of FCS players in the NFL and the popularity of FCS football. Same goes for college hockey players in the NHL. If you want to demonstrate that college hockey is more popular than FCS football you'll have to do it with attendance numbers, TV ratings, dollars spent by fans...etc. for just those two sports.
  12. That is just an absurd non-sequitur point. There is at best a weak relationship between professional athlete's salaries and the popularity of their sport at the college level. Consider this for instance: major league baseball players make more money, on average, than NFL players and yet college baseball is no where near as popular as college football. Also, NBA players have by far the highest average salaries among American team sports. Should we conclude that the basketball is far more popular at the college level than football based on that? Of course not.
  13. So, UND fans are making the same sort of predictions about next year's Bison team that they made about this year's team a year ago. Hmmm, hope you're just as accurate this time around.
  14. A big fat guy pissing all his friends off?
  15. Typical sour grapes rationalization.
  16. I hear he kilt his first bear when he was only 3.
  17. His stats likely would have been better after 4 years of playing in the Big Sky.That might have helped him to get a shot at the next level (assuming that's what he wants to do). Other than that, he chose well.
  18. So the NFL scouts are wrong about Carson Wentz now because they were wrong about Kyle Boller? You don't see the logical problems with that statement?
  19. You never know how a player's skills will transfer to the next level, particularly a QB. But, rest assured that Carson will get a shot.
  20. Agreed, everyone outside of this board seems to have no difficulty understanding that.
  21. Hey, the run isn't over quite yet.
  22. Almost 3,000 yards passing on a team with a conservative offense and average receivers ... no, he's not very good at all.
  23. He's got a long way to go. But there's a lot of talent there.
