It should also be mentioned that Dan Hammer was just on 740 The Fan and when asked of the candidates that have applied who would you give the job to, he said Pflugrad. He continued to say Faison will work his network, which not many ND people are in, and chances are the next HC will be someone not formally mentioned yet.

I think what we are seeing right now is that Pflugrad is the most experienced, and if he was good enough to coach for Montana, he's good enough to coach at UND. Bohl came with baggage too, not that Pflugrad will automatically come with same success, but he is a great candidate.

I guess I know what topic needs to be voted on as a measure on the next ballot. Legally, Faison could't even start interviewing until today practically. P.S. Don't use FU players to get the signatures.

Does anyone think this could all be a smokescreen by Faison? The next HC could be on that list already and Faison is just hiding what little bit he can until everything is hammered out according to the law. Maybe Faison is sick of the transparency.

Just thinking out loud here, Pflu is a great candidate for this job. He knows the BSC, he knows how to recruit at a high level, he has more than enough experience to be qualified for this position, and most of all..... he has a huge chip on his shoulder. He obviously feels he got a raw deal in Montana, even if he does carry some responsibility for what happened, I would think he probably learned from his mistakes and that he won't make them again. I say we give Pflu a chance to be great here a UND! Bottom line is we are losing recruiting time and Pflu is a very good candidate. Not saying I wouldn't 100% back a different coach, but we need a sense of urgency.

Agree, especially with some of the talent we have at the WR position.

That's what I dug up too. First glance would say that he is a quality candidate. This would help the run game department.

Admittingly I haven't looked too much up on the candidates that applied today. Cummings looks quite intriguing, a bright spot would be that he just coached up Eric Fischer who was the #1 pick in the 2013 NFL went to the Chiefs. Andrus looks descent but he has been all over the place. He should have alot of contacts for assistants. Then Bubba is there as well, who brings a pretty good resume if we want to go back to the good 'ol boy network. Is it weird if Pflugrad is still probably my top choice?

Certainly interesting. I just kind of feel the need to get fresh blood, not saying Bubba is not a good candidate at all though. I just feel Pflu is at least a notch above Bubba.

So you honestly think Weber State totally passed on Pflu?

Whether or not Faison seriously considers Pflu for HC, I think something that has been understated here with Pflu is his resume. Take a look at it, http://www.weberstatesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=8600&ATCLID=206484500 . He was recruiting coordinator for Arizona State from '95-'00. Then went to Washington State and was recruiting coordinator/assistant head coach from '01-'05. We keep harping about being able to find a guy with great recruiting acumen. Although he doesn't know ND, MN,or WIS, he knows how to recruit.

I believe GT referenced that he would need University President and something like the HR office to at least first back him then from there I don't know whats required.

Heard on Jack Michael show on 740 The Fan over noon hour, GT was talking about possibly getting an emergency hire for the HC job to speed up the ND hiring process. GT said this is an important time in recruiting as a reason. I admit I'm not the definition of unbiased but how is the situation an emergency? Bohl and his whole staff are finishing the playoffs at FU, it's not like Bohl and his top assistants are in Laramie right now talking about where to start recruiting. If GT got his way, FU could have 2 HC's for a time, one focused on 2013 team and getting a 3rd NC while the other is on the recruiting trail concerned about 2014. Am I inferring this correctly? Just doesn't seem fair. I realize Bohl finishing out year is somewhat unheard of, but does anyone remember this ever happening before?

I think we need to get Pflu on board ASAP! We need to take what little advantage we just got with some uncertainty at FU and start recruiting.

And in a little over a week your 1st team will take our 3rd place team to the wire.

I keep hearing that the Hardee thing will impact the head FB coaching hire, which I mostly agree with. But didn't Hardee resign? I don't think he was fired, unless it was a pressured resignation of sorts. I am really pulling for Pflugrad to be the next guy, or at least getting a hard look. Hearing all these Griz fans rave about him is selling me. It sounds like he has a proven recruiting track record, yea he doesn't know our pipeline but great recruiters figure it out. Although I realize Lennon has struggled probably for multiple reasons at SIU. The way it sounds with Pflugrad the way he took the train head on for his players, you know his players played hard for him and bought into what he preached. That's what UND needs right now.

I would imagine it would be up to the new coach.
