Sounds like job is going to current DC, which allows NDSU to avoid the dog and pony show Faison is putting on. If Klieman decides to head west with Bohl, then they probably try to use "emergency hire" clause with playoffs, timing, etc. as reason. I hope it doesn't get to this point (UND dragging it's feet...NDSU going outside yet getting it done quickly)...as I really don't want to waste extra time and energy being pissed.

Did Faison hire Jones? Lacking the effort to look it up, who has Faison hired during his tenure? I've seen posts giving him credit for hires, thus trusting him on the current football hire. He didn't hire Hakstol, didn't hire Mussman (although he did give him an extension), again not sure on Jones. In looking at the big 3 sports during Faison's tenure, is there a "signature" win? I honestly can't think of one! I guess since NDSU beat Notre Dame tonight, and UND crushed NDSU...that's the signature win.

I hope it includes Q & A with Faison, and not fluff stuff...2nd, 3rd level type questions...like what constitutes an emergency hire and how can it be used in a situation like this?

I said it earlier, it will be interesting to see what NDSU does (or is required to do) if they don't promote from within. Under the logic Faison uses, they would have to use the same open records laws once they post the opening (which they haven't even done yet to my knowledge). So, for sake of argument, say they post next week. They will not be able to hire a new HC until early-mid January? Somehow I doubt that will be the case...

If we don't name a new HC by this Friday, my first question is 1) What has Faison been doing the last 3 weeks?

Reason I ask is because I have been told from those in the know there that they might have loophole or emergency clause that can be used? If that's the case, wondering why it wasn't used for us? Guess I need to be more like you guys and trust Faison...gotta be honest, that part I'm struggling with.

Agreed, but he was fired. Fired after a horrible loss to UND a few years back too.

Hope you are right...and hope that is why Faison couldn't make it to Fargo luncheon today (even though Hakstol came and wasn't supposed to).

Understandable. I think his passion for UND football, time here, success at Duluth, recruiting knowledge in area, etc. make him tough to pass up. Plus I think it would energize the fan base, which is #1 priority IMO.

I think Tibesar would take a significant pay cut making this move, also guessing once you get a coaching gig in the NFL you want to hold onto it as long as you can. I'm with you though, would love to see him back at UND.

It's been released already, I guess 4 new got added today...but they didn't even say who they were, all they said was "no local flare"...so best guess is that they are of same quality as majority already on list. Pflu hands down front runner now, according to most on here.

Pflu is only legit hire on applicant list right now. If Brooks applied this afternoon, he immediately goes to at worst #2 spot. If Tibesar applies tomorrow morning they cancel all future calls, interviews and hire him on the spot. This program needs life now, first and foremost. Brooks brings life to the program if hired, no one else on the list outside of Pflu would do that.
