  1. We are also at the Embassy Suites Convention Center. Hopefully Sioux fans dominate the hotel. If they have their normal windows, I anticipate lots of Sioux jerseys hanging in the windows facing the atrium!
  2. All of that with a sea of Green!
  3. Agreed, Party should be starting at 2. Somehow I believe alot of Sioux fans will be there much earlier than 5:30.
  4. If the turnout is anything like Boston, there will be UND fans throughout the arena. Our seats are in sec. 101.
  5. Have to believe that some of these guys that are in the discussion will be serious candidates for Hobey Baker consideration next year. I would think Stecher would most definitely be on that scoreboard when they announce the final 10. We have seen a substantial jump in their development and each player has to analyze their situation but it never hurts to improve your leverage in contract negotiations. There have been many who have left early only to toil in the lower levels and never realize their dream.
  6. Reporter on ESPN2 reported yesterday that ND fans were busy scooping up all of the tickets for Frozen Four. DU's other 6 fans better make up their minds quickly.
  7. Some of the guys that are contemplating leaving early should talk to others who left early because they thought they were ready and weren't. Many regrets and in many instances screwed their chance to ultimately make it to the big show.
  8. Last year, my impression was that the entire arena was pretty much the Sioux section. Boston people could not believe how many Sioux fans showed up. Hoping for the same or more turnout this year.
  9. He looked like he was tired, didn't have that same jump in his step. I have a hunch he will show up big time in Tampa.
  10. Airline tickets, hotel room, game tickets, all set for Tampa!!!
  11. If I recall correctly, was that the game that Brock Nelson got checked from behind early in the game and was injured? Not only did we miss Nelson's talent, it totally screwed up our line rotations.
  12. I was at the game so unable to see this. At what point in the game did this occur?
  13. Don't have to move to Minneapolis to support your team. There is no passion from the DU fan base. My daughter is flying in from Denver for the games this weekend. She attended Arizona State. However she will be wearing Sioux green and I am positive will be out-cheering by herself the entire DU (all 12 of them) delegation. Even the Sioux games in Denver have more UND fans than Pioneer fans.
  14. It is very easy to do a census on the Denver fan base at these games. I think there should be a contest to find any Denver fans who aren't parents of the players at the game. My bet is there would be no winners.
  15. Not worried about the rodents getting into the tournament. There are many more teams that have been playing much better hockey than them. UMD, ST. C., and Den are much more dangerous than the Goofs.
  16. Getting late in the year to start tinkering with the goalie situation. I don't think redshirting is an option as I can't imagine a 3rd NHL draft pick planning on spending 5 years here anyway. If he is totally healthy, have to wonder what he is thinking as I am sure he would want to be playing. Possibility that he doesn't come back next year?
  17. Faceoffs last night were horrendous. As a team we only won 35% of the faceoffs and were constantly chasing the puck. L. Johnson only won 3 out of 19 faceoffs and Nick S. did not do much better winning 5 out of 19. Definitely an area we need to improve upon. Gardner and Simonson did much better.
  18. I can't argue with your assessment regarding Cam. With that being said, I think Tomek should be given some work to see what we have there. From reading an earlier post from Goon, he looked sharp at one of the practices he must have attended lately. With his pedigree he may be able to make those big saves that we need to win the Natty.
  19. Up to this point, I was willing to give Thompson the benefit of the doubt, but after his standing around and not having his head in the game, I think he needs to sit tonight with Shaw in for him. Definitely need to make a change with LJ. Just not getting it done with his current role. Unless Cam comes out and plays like he has previously this season, might be time for Tomek next week.
  20. Agreed that he could have used another year of college. He was here 3 years but only played for 2 of those years due to injury.
  21. As a high NHL draft pick, i seriously doubt he plans on being at UND for 5 years so the redshirt option would be mute IMO.
  22. So no Tomek again tonite. Starting to think that Berry has no plans on him playing this year if he is healthy.
  23. Agree, Tomek came in as a blue chip recruit. If he is healthy we need to see what have and a good place to start is tomorrow night.
  24. Hoping that Gardner's hand is not serious. Any word on how St. Clair is doing? Original word was out 3 months which is about how long since he had his surgery.
  25. You are correct that those were not very good years for Rube. He certainly should have gotten better results with the talent he had such as Earl Anderson, Jim Cahoon, Hangsleben. Dennis Johnson was one of my favorite players to watch. There were very dark days at the end of Rube's tenure.
