  1. If the gophers beat UMD they are in the NCAAs. Very few scenarios are possible that would prevent it from happening. Likewise, Duluth must win to have a chance. In fact, even if the bulldogs win the play in game, the gophers could still make the tournament. If Duluth loses, they're done. Also, I feel that with 3 centers out for DU, it will be tough for them to beat the badgers who are playing well right now. Also, it's entirely possible that we could go 1-1 in the tournament and still be a #1 seed with a couple DU losses. I expect a few upsets. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out.
  2. Mn St-Mankato should do the right thing and suspend him for the rest of the year. Probably for his own good.
  3. Our special teams are not good enough right now to win a National Championship. We have to have the ability in big games to take advantage of Hextall getting under an opponents skin. Lately that has not been happening. Losing Lapointe on the PK has hurt us too. Is it possible for us to win it all? Yes, but to be honest, right now that's very unlikely. If we win our next 4 games in convincing style....look out
  4. Rotating goalies is a lot like "sex panther" aftershave. 60% of the time, it works everytime!
  5. unfortunately, from reliable sources, VV is gone if offered any deal
  6. Historically, SCSU and UND play really close games for the most part. Since 2005, the Sioux hold a 6-4-5 record against the Huskies. The 4 Sioux loses were one-goal games, all of which were low scoring. However in the last 2 years, 3 of the Sioux wins were blow-outs (7-2, 6-2, and 6-2) respectively. If the Sioux team that showed up last Friday night appear this weekend, it could get ugly. If they take a night off, expect another tie or 1 goal loss. Tonight UND 6 SCSU 3 Tomorrow UND 2 SCSU 2
  7. Agreed, and no question BH will have better offense than Prp. Each has their roles to play ultimately becoming legendary fan favorites. That's what makes them all comparable.
  8. Hextall is more like Prpich, an agitator. Arch was a bonafide goon with skill. Both extremely valuable to any team and crowd pleasers all. Glad they each one of them chose UND.
  9. Me too. I had to give my tickets to a buddy due to a hockey tournament. Would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I just hope the name changes before I make my annual donatations to the university this spring. I think I can find better ways to spend it.
  11. 4 pts from Tech this weekend obviously means more to fans than the team. We would have had games in hand on WI and only 2 pts behind Denver with them coming to our barn.....We had the potential to be in 1st place in the league after next week for Christ's sake! Hopefully the team's head isn't too firmly lodged up their arses for tonight's game.
  12. I predict a sweep for Minnesota.
  13. Forbort is the real deal and we're lucky to be getting him at UND.
  14. I've seen Cichy play twice against the Force and IMHO he's far from being the next great one. I would like to see the Russian from Indiana in Kelly Green myself.
  15. I think we'll need a guy like Jeremy Morin to match Schroeder's skills....
  16. I predicted a SCSU sweep and hoped for heaping helping of crow for desert. AZ said no way the Huskies sweep and we won both games. I therefore predict a Bemidji State Sweep......
  17. SCSU is not Harvard. That being said, I hope "crow" is on my menu come Sunday.
  18. Can't hit what you can't catch. I'm afraid we won't be able to match their speed 5 on 5 and BE gets hung out to dry by his defense way too much. We'll need to have an advantage in PP chances and convert them to have any chance to win. Let's hope their goalie sieves out but I were to make a wager, I'd bet that SCSU sweeps.
  19. or Vandevelde. Hopefully it will be their turn to score tonight. Sioux, please don't lay another Saturday night egg
  20. doesn't everyone understand that any recruit the gophers don't secure simply means they were not that interested in the player anyway?
  21. I agree with your assessment. This game was very entertaining, lots of pressure in front of the net on both sides, great goaltending, and very physical. It will be fun to see these teams later in the season after they get their legs. Both teams had their chances to win.
  22. We have a few decent recruits in this bunch but I wonder where they will rank behind Mn vs. other WCHA recruiting classes.
  23. You are correct. Certainly not the best accomplishment for a career. He can't help his linemates, and they can't help him. Wonder if he's taking any Chemistry classes? Couldn't hurt.
  24. No question that BE gives us the best chance to win, now and in the future. I also suspect he will have improved stats after this weekend's series even though we may lose both games. Maybe they should move BE to forward.
