  1. I'm sorry but Parise is nowhere close to the talent on the previous list of successful Freshman UND goaltenders. In fact, if Zach turns pro at the end of the season, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jordan out of the mix next year. Brandt, Lamoureux, Ziegelmann.......
  2. Speaking of recruiting, did anyone see Sedevie in the nets for Bemidji St vs. the rodent last Saturday? hmmmmm...
  3. Good point Redwing, however in 2000, the Wisconsin series happened much earlier in the year and the Sioux were probably underdogs (IMO) with much more time to recover. When I look at the schedule, it doesn't appear to get any easier for the Sioux down the stretch. With the exception of maybe the Mich Tech series, the remaining games will be battles. CC is currently on the bubble for a potential NCAA bid. They will be motivated to steal points in Grand Forks this weekend. Plus, UND still has not figured out how to beat Mankato on the road since they entered the league. And last, Duluth is playing pretty well of late (despite the tie last weekend @ MS) and has the home ice advantage with revenge on their minds. Any emotional losses could be devastating. No question about it. We need to take care of business this weekend and build momemtum going into Mankato and not make untimely critical mistakes. If this happens, you take the sense of urgency out of the equation in Duluth and the Sioux will be poised to make a run for the NCAA title.
  4. It's looking too much like last year's collapse. Quite frankly, the difference has been lack of production from their 2nd thru 4th lines. UND as a true #1 should never blow a 3-0 lead and be getting more scoring production out of players like Stafford, Fylling, Prpich, Porter, and mostly Schneider. Lundbohm show'd glipses of a rebound but has sputtered of late. Also, dominant teams find ways to win close games. BC for example is 6-1 in one goal games, where UND is 3-4. As much as I hate to say it, right now, the Gophers are deeper than the Sioux. The difference may come down to coaching. Lucia clearly has the edge here. If the NCAAs started today, I'm afraid the Sioux would not make it to Boston. They need to bury CC this weekend to start the turn-around and build momentum/confidence entering the Final Five. Can Blais coach them out of this downward spiral? I'm not so sure.
  5. Doesn't look good. Tough break on the fumble. 10-0 will be tough to recover from with the weather like it is........we need another Sioux miracle.
