    Norman not returning for sure?

It doesn’t guarantee he’s gone for sure but he did not partake in senior day. Being he’s listed as a junior, why would he leave UND though? Better education elsewhere? Sick of hoops? Going to a bigger/better hoops program? Tired of long & bitterly cold GF winters?

Frankly, women's hockey is a lot like electric vehicles.

    - lots of true believers who will explain the greatness to you
    - lots of skeptics with legitimate concerns to address
    - the day may come but forcing it won't help
    - it ain't as cheap as you think
    - will you get the return

My opinion has always been women’s ice hockey is not the same great game when checking us not allowed. What makes ice hockey such a great sport is it contains both speed and  physicality.  I love watching women’s basketball nearly as much as men’s basketball but if they did not allow jumping or running in women’s basketball then it would not be the same great game and I would not enjoy watching it.

A different school. Not so cheap. End of the day, you can do the job or you cant.

Agree 100%. I do not hire someone based solely on the school they attended. Besides, anyone I would hope should know no law schools are “cheap”.  Some are just more pricey than the others.

I’m driving back from Bismarck to Grand Forks tomorrow with the biggest Bison fan in the office, so NDSU NOT punching a ticket to the dance was top of my priority list for the evening. If they get beat bad (at least 16, which is how many UND lost by), even better. I never rub stuff in, but at least he won’t be gloating.

The beefy cows lost by like 35 points or so I believe. It was real ugly fairly early.

(I already posted this elsewhere, but it was too much work to sit at the end of a dead thread. After all, I did MATH.)

If UND wants to advance past UNO, it will want to reignite its nation-leading PP which has been struggling since the off-week between Miami and Denver. Here's how the PP has done over UND's last eight games:

    • 2/10 at DU: 2/9
    • 2/11 at DU: 0/6
    • 2/17 vs SCSU: 2/4
    • 2/18 vs SCSU: 1/3
    • 2/24 at CC: 0/4
    • 2/25 at CC: 0/4
    • 3/3 vs UNO: 1/4
    • 3/4 vs UNO: 0/3
    • TOTAL: 6 for 37=16.2% over the past eight games

Ouch, not nearly so good as of late. Yup,  need the PP to reignite to make any meaningful run.

what penalty are you reffering to?  im trying to remember...the cross check to the goalie?   if thats what you are reffering to, that was his own player forcing his stick into the goalies neck

Like you, not sure what penalty the  poster is referring to?  If referring to the cross check/high stick to the goalie play you just referenced, you nailed it. Complete BS call was made against the Sioux.

Be here and you would know. UND hosted a nice social room before each game. Lots of happy players parents chatting and enjoying time with each other and fans. Need more fans here in person rather than wringing hands about the portal from their armchair.

A 5 days long (!) conference tourney ain’t necessarily working class friendly time and money-wise unless you happen to live in eastern S.D. Do it all on a wknd though (like the NCHC) and  a bit more manageable for fans out of state but that will not happen though cus of tv dollars forked out for a week night Conf Tourney final game.

Finally has time to write a story about UND? Of course this is what he would cover! I hope Nelson transfers out to balance out the karma!

Word has it, Nelson is moving on following this season.

The Gophers practicing in Rochester this weekend is a good idea for the Gophers and a good opportunity for Rochester to show its appreciation for hockey. There should be a USHL franchise there, it's less than an hour from Shattuck.

Why were the Gofers practicing in Rochester? Yes, agree, believe Rochester could and would fully support a USHL franchise.

Has anyone commented about the coaches challenge on Jandric’s goal regarding the fact that it appeared Tychonick had pulled Schmaltz’s stick the opposite direction and when he dove to block the shot, it looked like he released and Schmaltz pulled his stick back the opposite way and that’s why it appeared he’d interfered with the goalie.

Not that re-litigating it matters at this point but this morning was my first real opportunity to watch it so it got me thinking.

That was such a BS goalie interference call.

Dare I say this team might have a shot in Omaha next weekend?

I do believe so, MM. The only problem is the red cows sit on low end of the PW top 16 ranking so like UND also I would think they will be very motivated to at least advance to St Paul for conf tourney.

The question he should have asked is ‘if 70% of your wins come against AA, LIU and Arizona State, how do you get to 12 in the first place?’. Yes, they did beat a few good teams but good lord, the math!!! 30% of their wins are Anchorage!

Glad you said that cus I was thinking along the same lines when I checked out their schedule and who a good portion of their wins have come against. I always thought PW ranking/grading system was damn near objective but not so sure about that anymore.  Good Lord.

Does anyone have any inside information that she is even looking at UND ?  That would be a huge get for us!

Not sure anybody really does but perhaps more wishful thinking based on a few factors?  Minn this season, although having lots of young talent, was again a dumpster fire.  UND should again be a  good team next season so not really  a step down if she went to UND vice staying at a struggling Power 5 conference team.  She perhaps would like to play one season on same team with her older sister.  UND is a bit closer to home/GF not big city lights metro area like Twin Cities so more like home for a NW Minn small town gal. Then again, maybe it’s all just conjecture. Only Kacie’s younger sister know for sure!

Regardless of how the regular season finished, and how the SLT goes, I think you guys have a good shot at a WNIT bid.  Nothing guaranteed like with NDSU, of course.  But often that tournament has to go deep into their wish list to get teams.  For some reason, eligible P-5 teams often turn their noses up at it.  Pretty arrogant, if you ask me.  Post-season opportunities are a nice reward for your players' hard work, and provide valuable experience IMHO.

Agree, would never turn down any post-season tourney. Any time you can extend your season it can only benefit the players/team.

We need to get back to the days where we were losing in the Frozen Four semifinals instead of just winning conference titles, a playoff title and a Natty!

But now half the time we don’t even make the NCAA tourney so no shot at all at winning a natty. We always had that chance under previous coach while current coach only won the natty when handed the keys to a Cadillac.

Those of you that want UNO it would be hard to play a team 4 times in a row and win.

Albeit still a tall task for this team but “only” need to win 2 out of 3 in 1st round of NCHC playoffs.
