  1. Yah, at least bb team can win at home.
  2. Yes, no doubt a 5 minute with the elbow to the back of the head but the reaction of the bulldog was comical to say the least! I went to a hockey game and a soccer match broke out!
  3. I admire your allegiance and passion for the Goofers but why post this on a Sioux hockey forum and not on a Goofer or Lil6 hockey blog site?
  4. Penrose, Penrose, you're talking Penrose?! Hell, I just want to finish in the top 4 of NCHC! Penrose, ...!?
  5. Well said, I echo that opinion.
  6. The cardiac gals never seem to make it easy yet keep winning buku BSC games. Gotta like it.
  7. Oops, delete the second "not".
  8. My hunch is last year you would not of said the UND Fighting Sioux were not "scary good' despite their outstanding regular season and stellar playoff run to capture their 8th natty, hard to take your opinion serious.
  9. Am I missing something Dave? Bigten hockey conf has been around like 2 - 3 years so I believe 23 just doesn't compute...
  10. I hear ya but it's the old saying, you can't fire all the players.
  11. I hear ya Dave but ""formation of the NCHC put an end to that"? WTF? The almighty formation of the Lil 6 was by the BigTen and their member schools and that ruined the best hockey conf in the land, not the UND. Now, of course, that label belongs to the NCHC but gotta admit I miss the WCHA. It was so fun going to the Ralph East in St Paul ("not a home game for the Goofers", whatever, just like NCAA regional games there) and winning that tourney with the best traveling fan-base in college hockey in attendance. Great times, too bad the Lil 6 ruined a good thing.
  12. Fair enough, gotta assume you're speaking the truth then Dave. How are you a big Goofer hockey fan then (alumnus?)?
  13. "State of Hockey", I know you care...Mich hockey is like Minn in football, ain't won a natty in like 50+ years.
  14. Big deal. And we lost to cellar dweller Wis at home last season but look what UND end up doing at season's end....
  15. North Dakota owns more NCAA D1 hockey championships (8) than the COMBINED totals of the five, count 'em that's 5, Minnesota D1 hockey playing schools (total of 6). Can't make it up.
  16. Pretty much out the whole season I believe (?). I want her to succeed as well and hope she does. I think her knee injury has taken a toll in her mind but at Fergus Falls HS she was a big scorer and I hope over time, as this season progresses, with confidence that enables her to do well at UND. Again, she's a scorer, and she needs to do that to succeed for the Hawks as that's why she's here.
  17. Ditto. Stand finally hit a few buckets in 2nd half on Sat afternoon but the Thur game and 1st half Sat she couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Unless she can consistently drain some treys I just don't see a role for her as she's not fast, nor athletic, doesn't rebound, can't really create her own shots, etc.
  18. My God, out of anybody DU has the least right to mock. Diss 'em.
  19. I'm an avid Fighting Sioux name supporter but there was no way the firm/designer could hit a "grand slam" no matter what was spent, at least not on this board/in this arena. They were in a no win situation, at least in this crowd.
  20. Good point. Yah, it's a Catch-22 indeed. I don't care who's coach, UND doesn't rebuild it reloads and there's still plenty of talent on hand. Will we be dominant like last season (6 losses?), likely not, but we'll be in the running and that's all you can ask for.
  21. Nah, I think he's just a big "Who"' fan and was just singing their epic hit. That's all it was...
  22. Agree! We had to leave Fergies at about 12:30 a.m. (missed the Sioux players) and drive to Orlando as had 7:00 a.m. flight out Sun morn. That was the only damper, wish had of left Sun afternoon/Mon morning.
  23. Yah, although UND went 16 years w/o winning a nattie the Ralph was a big part in ensuring good/top rated teams essentially every season (what a run!). What a benefit to have, just as Ralph wanted in order to help in recruiting.
  24. Didn't he play in the NHL (or WHL/WHA) at the age of 50 and with some success? I mean, that is incredible--it boggles the mind if correct. Not a normal human.
  25. It boggles the mind with his size (6ft 5in, 235 lbs). He couldn't pull the ball if you threatened him. Are you serious, 3 extra base hits in the month of May up to 25 May (he did recently go on a hr "tear" to get that total up to 7 or so)? Wow. He has absolutely no upper cut in his swing and yet strikes out a good bit for a guy hitting in the .280s (yah, hitting has improved a bit from last season at least) with little power.
