Also keep in mind that the REA is PAID FOR!!! Meaning no huge annual bond payments just the cost of running the facility and it's employees (which isn't small I'm sure).

Maine lost Shawn Walsh a couple of years back....Emotionally I'm pulling for Maine.

Not to ruin your positive - but tickets for hockey were free when I was a student in 1989-1993. If I remember correctly UND (at the time) was the only Div 1 college hockey program in the country that didn't charge students for seats. So while you have a great deal on season tickets it used to be even better. I wouldn't complain however as the program during my years was not even close to where it is now. Pay for progression.

No I didn't...You mentioned not being an FSC member during the new REA...did you not?
-
The reason they opened the south end club to all was that revenue compared to the north end was paltry. I understand that - but don't alienate your previously exclusive customers in doing so. Country club analogy aside.
-
Sic: They could solve the south end club room issue very easily in my opinion. The south end should never be allow to fill to "capacity" - always allowing for entrance of FSC members upon showing their cards. Thereby keeping it open for general admission during the game but also allowing FSC members to gain entrance at any time. You have a card? You get in any time. You don't? You are admitted first come first served - if it is full and you don't have a card - you wait. Easy enough........

There is nothing wrong with any prospective FSC member reading this - in fact I would have loved to have had insight on this prior to putting down my money. As I mentioned I intend to take this up the chain - I have already stated that. Nothing wrong with a controversial subject on this board. This isn't a top secret issue we are debating. Thanks for your feedback but again it isn't as credible being you aren't a FSC member with all due respect of course.

I'm not saying what they face isn't hard what I'm saying is they are going about things poorly in terms of maintaining a good relationship with their funding pipeline. Money talks - always has and always will. Relationships are absolutely critical to running a successful "business". People that pay that extra money to join the FSC expect a little more than the guy who walks up to the window and flips out his $17 the day of the game. People who are in the FSC don't expect to stand in line outside the south end club (due to capacity) while fans from the upper bowl and the opposing team socialize behind the closed doors because they happened to get their before the club reached capacity. That is BS......Thats all I'm saying.

I would also like to see if you have the same PC opinion of things if your wallet was suddenly lighter by $1100 annually and you had "perks" taken away consistently every year in which your "dues" went up. Do you belong to a golf club? The situation at the FSC is akin to having your yearly membership dues at a private golf club increased and then having the club restrict your access to the club house and also only allowing you to play a round on odd numbered days. Please join the FSC...then pass on an opinion after a few years of season tickets - it will certainly hold more credibility with me.

For someone taking an outwardly definsive position of the FSC (of which you say you are not a member) I'm curious as to your position.
-
I give them away when I can't make it. As I said I'm there almost every home series. Sioux Illustrated? Nice $1100 magazine subscription there isn't it. You can have it. That isn't worth jack in my opinion. I can't believe you even mentioned that as a perk? I also loved getting the media guide this year two weeks before the end of the season. Lovely....
-
You are correct - the beef is with the FSC people not the REA. Perhaps that was a little cloudy.
-
"(2 at face, 2 at 25% off)" Year one at the REA in the FSC this was 2 at 50% off if I recall correctly.
-
Sic.. Hey I don't mind paying - just don't take away the perks while you raise fees. Those perks are what attracts people to gain FSC entrance in the first place (lower bowl, parking, club, pre-game meals etc) That is what I'm saying. And no you will never get my seats. I will keep them even if I can't make one game up there. Almost like having Masters tickets to me...You just don't give them up because you never know if you can get them back. With that said I made almost every series this year - even with living in Minneapolis.
-
Well if you want purchase a single seat there are two separate ones in our section that I know of that weren't sold last year and probably won't the next either due to being "singles"
-
Mafia: I agree 100% percent with you. I (and three of my colleagues) have been members of the "Fighting Sioux Club" since the REA opened. I can tell you first hand it was a nice perk during year one at the Ralph. We have seats in section 108 bordering the south end of the student section right on the blue line lower level just above the glass. The parking was (is) fantastic and the exclusive use of the south end club was equally fantastic (see not having to wait in line for a drink or some open space in which to kill time between periods). During the last two years everything has been degraded. We no longer have exclusive use of the south end club. The ticket package has gone up exponentially during years two and three and the parking pass isn't what it used to be in terms of the parking area and (volume of cars now that are permitted to park there). They have also taken away the majority of pre-game social hours in the south end club where appetizers and sanwiches used to be served. We have three former Sioux letter winners in our group of four and neither of us is very happy with the way things have been handled over the last three years. Basically everything has gone up (prices) and perks are slowly being removed! I agree REA has to make money but it seems to me they are alienating some of their larger donors. I have spoken to several in the higher levels (above the Coaches Club) and I have yet to find one that is very pleased with the way the season tickets are being run. We don't expect the world but if you continue to raise fees you can't proportionally take away "perks". IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY IN ANY BUSINESS!!!! Long story short...I live in the cities....and fully intend to get a group together to speak to the individual that is running this area (his name escapes me right now). I have about 10 already willing to knock on some doors. Without rambling (which I already have done)...Would be glad to dicuss this with you if you are interested....
-
Not only was that goal the winner - it was the wrap on the Hobey as well.
-
That is the winner. NO WAY Denver will come back. That 3rd goal just broke their back.
-
This hurts.....BADLY....what were we 6-0 against UMD? Christ.....help me.
-
My fault for mentioning the report Vanek was about to leave. Just passing on what I saw last night on the 10 o'clock news here in the cities.
-
I would as well...unless hockey was suddenly only played on the offensive side of the ice.
-
Actually I think it tilts the field towards the Sioux. Vanek was far and away UM's leading point getter this past year. Bo and ZPar pretty much split the leading point totals for the Sioux....50% coming back next year

Reports on local TV last night here in Minneapolis (Kare 11) saying Vanek is all but gone - Buffalo bound.
