  1. Really? Good for the Swiss.

Here's another question...since the advent of women's hockey, the USA and Canada own all of the gold and silver medals save for Sweden's silver in 2006. USA has the 2006 bronze medal and Switzerland now has one bronze medal. Who has the others?

Finland has the 1998 and 2010 Bronze and Sweden has the 2002 Bronze.

  2. Beat me to the punch...it can't work any worse than Target Center, can it?

I've skated there when the UND hockey camp was there because of the flood. If I remember right the lowest seats are above or slightly above the hight of the boards. The end that wasn't expanded north I think you have to sit in the balcony.

  3. I'm a big Bismarck civic center guy... Unbelievably pissed they don't have state B there anymore. Is the floor big enough for ice?

Hockey doesn't really work there, Bismarck Bulls played there when the Bismarck Express\Bismarck Bullets played at the VFW All Seasons Arena. The Bismarck Bobcats started there then moved to the VFW Sports Center(All Seasons Arena).

  4. The NHL player question is legitimate...a women's league? Only if the NHL is willing to prop up each team's financial losses, which would be in the millions of dollars.

Bettman said something about the college level is why they won't do anything with a woman's league.

  5. Doubt it. They are in the same boat as most college kids when they get a year or 2 out of college....Sooner or later you want/have to get paid as the Obama plan ain't for everyone.

link is to article about argueably the best women's hockey player in the World and inarguably the best womens goaltender in the world and the lack of opportunity to make money playing hockey and unless the NHL is going to prop up a womens league like the NBA does it probably won't happen anytime soon....no chance a women's pro league has a shot to make enough money for players to make a living.

Gary Bettman just got asked if the NHL will start a WNHL league, Bettman said no.
