Canada wins 3-1

Canada should get a penalty for goalie interference.

Ot was it the red with the white arm band?
It's a damn intra-squad scrimmage out there.
The Canada jerseys with this red arm ban stripe wasn't thought out very well. Maybe the designer of the jersey needs to look back in history right before WW2.

White and red?

Understood, but I think that's where the other countries need to step up, and if they're going to make a commitment to women's hockey, then commit. There's no reason why Sweden, Finland, Russia, etc. can't have a women's program like the U.S. and Canada. Here's to hoping that happens.
Japan almost tied Sweden at the end of their game, and should have gone to overtime with Russia if what would have been the first goal for Japan would have been reviewed. Japan went out and got a Canadian coach that has won two goal medals with Canada.

To play devil's advocate - other teams can't do this as well?
Some of the countries don't support woman's hockey like they do for men's hockey.

Right on! I see lots of 'both sides of the coin' arguments here. "We suck so I predict a split with Miami" followed up by "yea, well Miami sucks and it's pretty sad when we celebrate a sweep over the worst team in the league" comments on Sunday morning.
A sweep's a sweep and UND has absolutely got to have some more confidence on their side going into this coming weekend.
Miami is 5 games from being .500 overall, granted they have not lived up to the hype in league. Some are make Miami out to be Colorado College, and Colorado College have only won 4 games all season and those 4 game were against league teams.

...and here's a current article on how things have improved...
http://www.usatoday....y-iihf/5419441/
That being said, a semi-final game where one team records 70 shots on goal while the other winds up with 9 shows that there is still a long ways to go in terms of competitive balance in women's hockey.
I agree woman's hockey could be gone if the same two team keep dominating. The USA and Canada have an unfair advantage that their Olympic teams are together a year before the Olympics start. There should be a rule that each country only get a certain amount of days with the team together.

USA wins 6-1

6-1 USA

Sweden scores 5-1

The Olympic chairman discussed this four years ago - women's hockey could be in trouble this time around.
I read a article that said the head of hockey in the Olympics is keeping woman's hockey for 2018.
That wins moves the US Women into the gold medal game, correct?
Yes

42 shots on the Swedish goalie..not even half way through the game?
Wow... That is domination.
I almost feel bad for countries outside of Canada and the US in women's hockey.
The IIHF should make the USA and Canada Olympic teams not be able to train together the whole year.

5-0 USA

4-0 USA

3-0 USA

2-0 USA

1-0 USA

USA was a shoot-out win...Canada was an OT win.
TJ somebody-or-other apparently played a big role in the USA shoot-out win.
Shootout win is the same amount of points as a OT win.
And shootout wins go down as OT wins in the Olympics.

Hazen-Beulah had a really good goalie around that time. I don't remember Dickinson being that great.
