  1. Since the Stanley Cup Final has involved Florida for the last 6 years with two back-to-back champions. I'd expect the NHL/NHLPA NCAA feasibility study has to have been offered to a couple schools in Florida. FGCU would be the obvious choice; they play at Hertz Arena (7,181) and there use to be a holiday tournament there. UCF could play at Kia Center home of the Magic and Solar Bears seats 17,353 for hockey Solar Bears get around 6,500 so not bad at all. Florida State does own the Donald L. Tucker Arena (9,450 hockey) that a ECHL team, but there was a renovation in 2016. As far as I know the ice making equipment has been removed. Florida State along with Florida play in Jacksonville. The 7 (big) club teams in Florida are competitive and need to all go back to the AHCA. I'd like to see a Florida team move up with Georgia, if they ever do, and FGCU would be the one I see doing it first. A UCF series I came across. 2. This is about the newest info on what is going on in Tucson.
  3. This again after McKenna commits. So, let's look at where NCAA D1 could work in Illinois. Illinois State University: To me Illinois State is the obvious choice. They have an arena in Bloomington that is perfect, Grossinger Moters Arena. Has a capacity of 7,000 and the ECHL team draws 2,600 to 2,800. The Illinois State ACHA team does play at Grossinger Motors Arena. Northwestern: Allstate Arena, it's not close to Northwestern and the current home to the Chicago Wolves. Northwestern basketball did play there 2017-2018. A capacity of 16,692 for hockey with the Wolves averaging about 9,000 per game. Of the B1G schools this would be who has an arena ready outside Iowa. Roosevelt: Roosevelt just moved their athletic department up to NCAA D2 and are not far from Fifth Third Arena. The Blackhawks are expanding Fifth Third Arena adding a 2,000 seat arena to the existing arena. The Chicago Steel are going to move in there once it is built. If they were to add hockey, they could play, there due to how close it is to the school. Roosevelt plays ACHA D1 at Edge Ice Arena (old Blackhawks practice arena) which seats 3,000 in Bensenville. Illinois-Chicago: Would be nice to see former CCHA member to come back. Like with Roosevelt, Fifth Third Arena could be an option once it is completed.
  4. They have been getting fat on those cupcakes since day one
  5. ASU with pair of commitments Henry Chmiel and Luke Wilfley
  6. The Avs fans: "Hak isn't a good coach" Everyone else: "You know he took two bad teams to the playoffs, also he beat you with Seattle when you were the defending Stanley Cup Champions".
  7. B1G plays little to no defense and goaltending has been suspect there for awhile
  8. It's going to be fun seeing students at B1G schools like Minnesota when they beat Penn State
  9. It did sound like the Predators were not talking to TSU recently.
  10. Like the move. Have to wonder if Schneekloth would have been promoted from the AHL to the Avs instead of going to Seattle
  11. They need to do an ACHA/NCAA season anyway. Start at ACHA for a year and go from there.
  12. Don’t tell me that Bucci is going to be on SportsCenter to do a one of those football commits with him grabbing a hat to put on (this would be a Bucci idea).
  13. Bucci is going to be insufferable next season with his glazing Penn State all year. Not looking forward to that at all.
  14. I had them top 3, not sure why he had them so low
  15. They are going to hang that participation banners next to the we got McKenna banner
  16. It would be hilarious if Penn State missed the NCAAs.
  17. And those schools, like Penn State are putting money to volleyball after football both basketball programs. We've all seen this over and over a team full of high end and/or first rounders doesn't make you a National Champion. You could be like Toronto and spend all the money on 5 players and hope to win a round or be Florida and get the right pieces to win Cups.
  18. If they would have built the arena at Arco now the ASU-SkySong and not Glendale the team would have worked in Arizona. The reasoning for Austin is like Vegas be the first there. I'd take Portland over Indy.
  19. I'm waiting for that place to burndown, you get the ick on HFBoards
  20. This will either be a genius move or backfire miserably. Have to expect some school watching Omaha closely next season to see if it pays off or not.
  21. Nope, only someone on reddit saying it's not happening without providing a source. Of their committed recruits only two I saw go to other schools. Find out closer to September is my guess. The school did just spend millions on something, can't remember what it was
  22. Maybe develop your goalies, just an idea.
  23. Sounds like Misa will make the Sharks roster or at the very least the spot is for him to take
