  1. I'm glad you did (I'm also VERY glad that you separated this from the other thread). I was in err with my post. I think that all boosters should know these rules. I do know the relevant DI rules, but messed up with those related to DII.
  2. /// Representatives of an institution
  3. might not be the initial topic, but it's been the subject of the last twenty odd posts.
  4. If you're a booster corresponding with a prospect about the recruiting process you'd be in deep doo-doo Jim.
  5. Point out to where I said that you said it was. My post was meant to add a comment, not a correction.
  6. Doing so isn't going to be free.
  7. I've heard similar things, but 1) I hope they aren't true. 2) They sound quite (too) ambitious.
  8. Also, I think the University (more specifically the Development/Alumni Foundation) should use its own funds for the lawsuits. First, I don't think you'd get money from the State. Second, I think those involved in the suit would have much greater control. I don't doubt for a second that the University could raise a quick million or two for legal fees.
  9. If it was about employees' health, which is about the only decent argument, why don't they just enforce existing rules regarding workplace conditions? My brother works in manufacturing and I'm pretty sure his workplace has more crap in the air than at a new bar with a $100,000 filtration system.
  10. So apparently, my bison moniker makes me a troll? I was simply clarifying that my previous post does not limit the argument to one.
  11. I didn't.
  12. It was on tv, WDAY, a few weeks ago as well.
  13. Actually the first amendment, the part about freedom of assembly, allows the NCAA to make stupid rules for its voluntary members. With the exception of forcing the University to remove depictions of Native Americans, though a binding contract was in place. I have no idea what UND can base its case on.
  14. If the NCAA denies UND's appeal regarding the nickname issue on what grounds would the then seeming inevitable lawsuit be made?
  15. I would have agreed with you (weakly) until Tuesday, the Spirit Lake Nation resolution is going to hurt.
  16. Once again, change the moniker to the North Dakota Highway Patrol and the University is in the clear.
  17. Thanks for the info.
  18. It's used correctly: Pow-wow: A council or meeting with or of Native Americans.
  19. Bad Press:Tribe fights !?! Same Story in the SF Chronicle Negative Story in the Trib (not related to the SLN)
