Crazy thought…but what if someone like 9 takes off? I mean ridiculously skilled, probably needs two more years before the NHL…why go through a rebuild? I can think of one program that could be in his ear.

The fact the portal has to be our savior is embarrassing at this point. We either aren’t giving our recruits a fair shot…or we’re recruiting the wrong kids. What is it? The “miss” rate is clicking a bit high from what I’m used to.

Agreed. But the point most folks are missing is Nodak used to be a sure fire program as far as recruiting goes. This past year was the first time I’ve heard negative things (from a recruit standpoint) about going to Und. And I’m talking high end kids. Most folks on this forum are speaking in terms of pro hockey where guys come and go and you build through free agency (which work at the pro level). The problem is, for those families with high end kids, college hockey is only the next step in the development. Right now is the message is there is zero room for error and you’ll be replaced by a 25 year old portal guy. Honestly it would be super tough for me to send a kid to this program. Really hoping things turn around quickly.

We’re all fans of the program (obviously)…but looking at the folks that are attempting to spin this all in a positive light is hilarious. I wear green coated glasses but this is something entirely different hahaha

As a lifelong fan living in the heart of gopher land…this is really tough to watch.

We’re witnessing the downfall…right now. This is it. Unfortunately Bubs probably won’t survive this. Stinks because he is an awesome guy. unfortunately the optics are serious roster mismanagement…even if Moore heads somewhere and does more of the same. We used to lose players to the nhl and then reloaded…now kids want to leave and there is no one to replace them with.

I’d bet my next 3 mortgage payments Moore’s was an advisor discussion. Clearly something is not right.

Don’t take this as “coming after you or anything” but from the past few days you were def in the camp of using the portal could be a negative long term, now you are fine with an underclassmen (portz) taking off. Reason?

I’m more of a fan with developing our own players…but given the current environment we’re in we kind of need that Berg kid. Plus portz, albrecht, Ness, Montgomery etc…interchangeable 3rd/4th liners. Kids like Kunz, strinden, etc have to play and figure it out. Dividends will be paid during their upperclassmen years.

Is your program about development, winning…maybe both (hopefully)? Yes, BC’s incoming class is nice and appears to be nicer the following year if my memory serves me right…but there are sophomores, juniors etc that need the opportunity to play bigger minutes/better roles. Keeping a guy for that 5th year comes across with a bit of desperation from my angle. Especially considering teams like BC, MN, UM, BU etc recruit well year over year.

Agreed we aren’t going away. But we will need to change our recruiting strategy. I think we need to go older.

Harvard got crushed with the early signings….LaFerriere too. They have some really nice recruits coming in but they took a hit.

Curious if we could flip Daimon Gardner out of Tri City. Warroad kid. Putting up a nice ushl season currently committed to Clarkson. We used to mop up these areas.

Awesome to see Jaksen Panzer’s last 10 games, he’s on an absolute heater. Definitely needs to play another year but I was getting a bit worried there. Curious if there was some sort of injury. His production will still not look good over the course of the whole year, but these last 10 games is a huge step in the right direction.

Reloading won’t be an option. This team could be good, but they will need to outperform expectations.

When did we have a three goal lead?
