I agree...regarding tri city, I saw that. As mentioned before, I shouldn't have included Austin in my comment. Rowe, voltin and Wilkie have all played numerous USHL games with subpar numbers. Wilkie is the only one I think will end up with a "plus" offensive upside. We'll see though.

Are you referring to the barber line? I wouldn't say they are as good as malones line yet.
-
That would have been too smart of a decision.

My thinking exactly. Especially since we have some crafty forwards and a solid goalie.

Not saying your wrong...more for discussion, tell me one player who had poor junior numbers that went on to excel at und.
-
We have disagreed a tad the the defensemen in past weeks but Miami may expose our youth . As far as Mark goes, you couldn't be more right, my buddies and I have been saying this every game. Mark is so good, I think if you put Chyzk on that line it would be such an improvement. I believe Mark will be a solid NHLer.
-
One question, the UND vs Miami game will be broadcast on UND insider?
-
Best case scenario is we pull off the upset and sweep them. However I think a split is more likely. Hopefully we get that W on Friday night; the ref's better let the players be the deciding factor on the outcome of the game. Last weekend was some terrible officiating...on both ends. I have watched an NHL where there were no penalties called before....last weekend there must have been double digit penalties called in both games.

I guess Voltin is one that come's to mind, I have never seen him play but his stats have been relatively sub par his entire USHL career.
-
I am not the same poster....I did note that Luke's number last year took a dip from the year before but I have had his back from the beginning. I should have left Austin out of my previous comment but the rest stands. Also, Luke's numbers were solid in my mind.

Gropps numbers were not terrible...and the BCHL is second (barely) to the USHL in all of NA. He had 8 pts in 10 games....I too thought they would have been better but he had time to pick it up. The USHL is an offensive league as well. What I meant is that Wilkie has been playing in the USHL circuit for the past two years and his numbers are not that great compared to others who went through the NTDP. I stil root for them...don't get me wrong. It is also early in the season they can both pick it up. I should have held back on Poganksi, his numbers aren't great but it's a small sample, in a new league, and his team is bad I believe. Fair.
-
Honestly Gropp probably watched Friday night's hockey game and realized playing 4 minutes of even strength hockey a game won’t prepare him for the pro’s like the WHL will. It's honestly like watching basketball. Who has the better PP unit.
-
The players I am worried about are Voltin, Wilkie, Rowe (I believe) and Poganksi. There numbers so far in the USHL are pretty bad. I know that isn't the end all however one has to start wondering what there upside is. They are young but there are other players just as young tearing up the USHL right now going to other schools.
-
You are exactly right....the only reason he did this is to market himself. If all he has to do is work on is offense why would he go to college where players are bigger/faster/stronger/older. If I was him I would go tear up the WHL to market myself as he is already a very big kid. Again, I can rationalize his thinking I am just pissed our program lost out on this kid.
-
He has an A rating so he has the chance....6'3'' 190lbs and is only 17 years old. From what I read he needs to work on his offense and playmaking....so maybe the college route isn't the best for him. It's not like he has to get bigger. Still super pissed about this though. I can somewhat rationalize his thinking of why he wanted to go the CHL route rather than college. I guess I had to sleep on it though. It still is bull he decommited 2 months after he committed. Hak will find someone nice to replace him. He has time.
-
I'm with the others....nothing will surprise me anymore. From now on everyone one of the commits is fair game to leave; I'll worry about the players actually playing on the team from now on. This Gropp departure leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I actually respect the type of players the CHL produces but this is about enough.

Hakstols recruiting hasn't changed the least bit...nor should it. That's his biggest skill...I like Hak a lot because of all the talent he has been able to bring to a small community. However one would think he would have had 1-2 nattys by now. I feel it had been mostly bad luck why they haven't one a chip under him yet. This years team will be a long shot...but hopefully they peak at the end of the year. They have talent.

It's funny Mark only gets points when his bro isn't out there.

I had a perfect feed last night though.....tonight is so bad!!!
-
Ladue looked bad on that one
-
Video feed is bad tonight....extremely grainy, last night I had legit HD
-
Blown away Mitch is still in the lineup....so confused about that. Ladue is not a shocker....USHL defensemen of the year. Ausmus is also a shocker....Mattson should have been the odd man out, however our D lineup is so deep at the moment.
-
So be it...still got it right.

I was watching the game with a former pro player and he said it was the worst officiating game he's ever witnessed....and he was not a fan of either team (gopher fan).
