I never saw them trap either...at least not the traditional trap. They simply beat a team which lacked the motivation to beat another good team.

Are you sure about the Wild using the same system as the Pens? Yeo uses a dump and chase system (which is super boring to watch). The Pens use the same system?

As far as their "system" goes, it's fine and many other teams run similar systems. This all boils down to work ethic and motivation in my mind. There needs to be some more creativity on the PP but their 5x5 game is fine. Mentally this team (and last year's team) has major lapses during the course of games. Someone needs to wake them up. Again, I am positive this team will turn it around. I'm guessing this could be a roller coaster season, hopefully they pull their heads out of their arses by playoff time.

Hak isn't going anywhere nor should he; his resume speaks for itself. We haven't had a bad season in quite a long time. I too wish we had a national championship (or two) over the past 10 years as we have had some special teams. However, hockey is an odd game and bad bounces often change a "one and done" game. Everything is cyclical, we'll get another one sooner or later. Now for the constructive criticism; Hak has to learn how to motivate his players better. I think he waits too long before he interjects. By the time he attempts to start firing them up....they are already losing. That Friday game reminded me so much of the Yale loss last year. Our team was playing for the 1-0 win and that's it. Right when SCSU tied it up I (and the team) knew it was over. I truly believe this is all motivational.

Ha just saw that, I knew someone was going to respond to my post. Well, they beat a Denver team which is also struggling. I believe they lost a few games to Alaska squads the week before. They way our team is playing right now we'll probably beat them up on Friday and get worked Saturday, however, these are two games we need to win.

I think we'll get the sweep this weekend. Last weekend was an embarrassment. UNO has been pretty bad if I'm remembering right.

I hear ya....those losses were painful to watch. We we get up 1....our team looks absolutely terrible. The best our team looks is right off the faceoff of a 0-0 game, after that it's all down hill.

Tough weekend...the boys will put together another run to a decent season, they have too much talent. I don't think they have the makeup of a title team though. The focus and work ethic is definitely not there. Next year could be interesting if everyone stays, which they should. We have zero pro players on our team right now.

First off, Sanderson on the third? Why not try Bryn there? Is Keaton ever going to play? He definitely should have played another year in the USHL, terrible for his development.

Hak isn't going anywhere, however, looking at the players/teams who have came and gone over the past decade it is mind-boggling we didn't win a natty during that time. Especially since every time we we knocked out we pretty much shot ourselves in the foot. In recent years our teams simply can't put a full game together.

Agree with everything you said. Rocco in my mind has to pick it up big time. He is our star.

I'm not using this as an excuse by any means but our team is young bud.

Motzko is a great coach, he pulled in vanek at um which pretty much won two nattys, I would say he has out coached Hak. Given the opportunities our university would bring I would think he would do just fine coaching a similar program as ours.
