I thought you were saying he wasn't an AHL player....sorry. I do agree with you, he has to come back next year and continue to develope his playmaking ability. I bet he finishes the year better than a pt/gm which is very good in this league. I thought Rocco would put up numbers in the same stratisphere as Jonny Hockey but so far not even close. I just remember all the chances he got last year and all the pipes he hit.
-
Are you talking about Rocco? Rocco could play in the AHL. In regards to your third sentence....I'm sure a ton. However, reverse that....how many second round picks have played in the AHL? Also, he was the first pick in the second round.
-
Completely forgot about Olson....I really liked his numbers too. Forgot about Simonson however I do not think he will play much, if at all, his first year. I would not be opposed to Gersich playing another year in juniors....he was a Soph in high school last year so obviously he was accelerating his schooling. Who is G. Johnson? Also, I have a hard time figuring out where Voltin and Rowe fit in....they'll most likely need to play more juniors....which could not hurt their development has they are not excelling in that league.

Nice, Hak must make sure Schmaltz comes....and stays. I was somewhat worried about Poganski and Wilkie however they have sure picked it up as of late. I honestly think one more year of juniors would help Poganski and Wilkie so much. Rodwell and Mitch Mac are the only forwards leaving and with Schmaltz and Gersich coming in I think it would be a mistake for them to come....or at least not the greatest idea. On another note, are Mantha and Poolman coming in next year? We are loosing Simpson and from everything I have heard J. Schmaltz is planning on staying one more year. That means another log jam. It may be beneficial if Mantha stayed and played another year in the USHL to work on his game. I really like Poolman's numbers. If the situation plays out ideally with Poganski, Wilkie and Mantha staying in the USHL to work on their game and everyone else stays (like they should) our team is instantly sure fire top three in the country. Rocco would go bonkers next year.

I am guessing Rocco leaves after next year....FLA will talk him into leaving. He'll have his degree as well. I am fine with that, if he stays two more years and plays the FA card, we'll have at least one Natty.
-
Yeah I saw that.... schmaltz is very good however he may not be ready for full time PK responsibility.
-
Google Hughes.... there was an article noting UMD and UND are in the mix. sounds as though WIS is a favorite though.
-
Exactly, however I don't think Jonny is coming on anything close to a full ride. I was trying to stick up for some buddies because there are a few losers on this site.
-
Yup, played youth hockey with both of them..... and were friends.

I have noticed the siouxs pk is not very good, due to lack of aggressiveness. This concerns me going forward against more offensive teams. Not sure what is going on with them this year. One poster also called out lack of shot blocking and this has also been very apparent this year. Simpson and Rocco and the only two I saw with decent BS's last night. CC came into the weekend with an 11% conversion rate and I thought their PP was relatively fluid against us.
-
Needed that last two minutes
-
....schmaltz wasn't even playing hockey on that pp
-
Wow this squad
-
We have given them a half dozen point blank shots
-
Zane looks like he's locked in.
-
Our PP looks a tad sluggish....not very fluid.

I'm glad mark is playing well....I was super high on him after his frosh year. Nice pass by parks.
-
Pretty classy buddy, between you and gfhockey I don't know who is worse. Are you from gf?

Rocco

When do his rights to FLA expire? After next year?
-
I am also very optimistic about next years team and believe there is no one, excluding seniors, that should leave. If Rocco was ready to leave he would be putting up well over a pt/gm. Also, there is no way he is big (muscle wise) to play in the NHL. I honestly think he needs two more years of hitting the weights extremely hard to even have a chance of playing in the Show... otherwise its a few years in the AHL and off to Europe.
-
Big game tonight...... hopefully they drop 5 on them tonight and Zane plays better.
-
Just from my observation, if you think this is their year you may be beating yourself up a bit. This team will need a little more than puck luck to pull that off.
-
I agree... teams like MN are very good at blocking shot. Good observation.
