I know parity is getting much better but when all nattys come from the former big 3 hockey conferences that doesn't necessarily ooze parity. However if another ecac team wins this year I will change my mind.

Played with RP all through my youth and into high school. He was the best 12/13/14 year old I ever saw (my bro played against toews in selects). But your comment is correct, toews is on a whole other level. What held RP back was his skating.

I've been away from ND hockey for a bit now however I know one thing....a lot must have changed. There is no way my rough riders wouldn't have dropped a bunch on any Minot squad. We used to pad our stats against those western teams.

Kozek had an NHL shot (equally as good as frattins in my opinion) however that is where it ends. He could score every once in awhile but the guy had no vision whatsoever. He was on good teams though.

I saw him this year....he actually has a decent offensive game and good shot. 38 pts in 43 games is not too shabby considering he has no one to play with.

BC is having no trouble scoring....they seem to just be getting better. Similar to how UND was when Dean took over. I agree it's tough to compare Hak to Dean because Dean was so great. However, as one poster mentioned Hak inherited great teams and great recruits. Not to say that Hak hasn't built some darn good teams however he hasn't been able to win the big one yet. Hopefully we can get lucky sooner or later.

That is a possibility however only a possibility at that. You only went back a few years whereas your initial comment noted that this years team has more skill than many of the past teams (which I would think would go well past the '10-'11 team). Also, I would have to say we have had more talented teams than the '10-'11 teams (easily actually). That was simply the last time we made it to the frozen four; the only tidbit there was we had the best team in the final tourney and couldn't get it done.

Haha. I think I understand where the poster was trying to go with that one however this team is probably less talented than many of the other teams we have had however they do surprise me every so often and only time will tell.

We'll be happy when we get #8. I have never really looked at it as a berry vs eades thing as they are both very good coaches.

You are correct, every team plays that way because in the NHL they are all gladiators and there is no room to get too cute.
