  1. Coming from a true Sioux fan, I like it. But in all honesty they all are very good players. Just had a bad game. Motte and Compher do have a very good 200 ft game. Conner's will come over time. Let's try not to be biased
  2. I'd take Conner in a heartbeat. Actually I would take Conner, Compher, and Motte. They are all really good. They simply ran into a brick wall last Saturday.
  3. I honestly could care less where he goes, the point I was trying to make was that this situation has a negative impact on college hockey. When teams draft players they will push their prospects to go the major junior route, where they will have more control of the player. If the players do choose the college hockey route they will try to sign the players earlier, possibly too early, simply to get them in their semi pro leagues. you are correct, technically it isn't a loophole, but its pretty shady to me. I have read Ryan whitneys tweets, he does make some decent points. I'm simply worried about the ramifications to college hockey over time. This seems to happen more frequently.
  4. Probably the bench or a 4th line role. In the limited time I say him play I liked his compete level a lot. He may have a chance to play by the time he's a senior.
  5. dang, have to feel bad for Nashville. This loophole is so terrible for college hockey, there has to be a rule change so this doesn't happen. College coaches cringe every time this happens. Makes their jobs so much harder as far as trying to keep the NHL reps from signing their kids too early.
  6. he was on the men's world team last year and is pretty old. He's also going to get a great deal. Why should he stay, judging by his numbers he has nothing left to prove at this level.
  7. Makes sense. To continue his development he should go play a higher level of hockey. He's typically the best player on the ice for most Sioux games. Other players on the Sioux should look at his skill set before heading to the minors/NHL. If they are not close to as good as Stech is they have no business leaving. I'm guessing Stech signs with the Canucks....he may crack the team next year. Stecher, Ladue (I guess), Poolman (only due to his age), Schmaltz, and Boeser are all players that should be flight risks. Now we've heard that Boeser is most likely staying however if he left I would understand. The confusing one's for me are Keaton Thompson, Poganksi, and LJ. I just don't understand why the latter three would even consider leaving. Johnson had a deal so I guess one would have to at least analyze the deal before considering whether or not to take it however I really hope he doesn't bite this year just because Ladue will be leaving.
  8. Oops wrong. You picked the wrong day to post this
  9. ill go out on a limb and say he applies. Your point makes sense.
  10. oh from what I heard last night he is. I was wondering why Anderson was the third stringer.
  11. this one is more interesting though.
  12. sounds like more than just the guys we know about could be flight risks. Heard a rumor last night that pogo could sign. Again its a rumor but its from someone relatively close to the boys. And I agree, pogo signing doesn't make a ton of sense. Hopefully he thinks it through and stays two more years like he should.
  13. not liking what's happening right now. Need some luck.
  14. blue line a bunch of finleys? I would not classify Werenski as a Finley.
  15. I was in the "absolutely not" crowd until ND joined. From a pure hockey standpoint we are a big school. Other teams in the NCHC build good team by selecting over-agers, kids who peaked later and didn't receive an offer from a bigger school (MN, Mich, ND, UND, etc.). I am afraid that we get left out of this conference (filled with the bigger schools and in our recruiting territory) that we would be forced to eventually change our recruiting strategy to older players. What happens when they do lower the age? This is all pure speculation I simply don't like where all this is going.
  16. I do like the UNO, WMU and Miami series' but you are correct. To see the goofs, MICH, WIS, and ND on a regular basis would be intriguing. One would have to think that the Big10 would be interested in UND being an affiliate simply due to the type of quality program we have the fan base. The NCHC would be gutted however.
  17. I never thought I would ever say this (even as recently as two days ago) however I would hope that if the Big10 came calling to UND they would accept.
  18. Absolutely! The focus here seems to be on Cam....I was simply trying to point out that we should focus on our offense. Our D is great.
  19. We're going to have to score goals on Friday....like 4 or 5.
  20. http://www.bcinterruption.com/2016/3/23/11289772/notre-dames-exit-a-chance-for-hockey-east-to-fix-mistakes-and-get-it I guess the NCHC was missing the "name brand" aspect. Ha.
