  1. Isaac Johnson - Des Moines Bucs
  2. I'm guessing that tournament was a pretty big reason why he decided to come back another year. That would stink if he wasnt able to play in it. The US should have a very solid crop this year. They may already be missing Keller (BU). Hopefully Shaw is back. We'll be fine; our speed should cause some problems for them.
  3. Those stats are ridiculous....especially for the dub. Philly has drafted a ton of goalies the past three years. The WJC is one of my favorite tournaments as well. Hopefully the US can get a gold this year. I'm also hoping to see the 3 Sioux players invited make their respective teams. Even though it may hurt us against Union.
  4. N schmaltz sent down to Rockford
  5. Nice post. So far this year Olson has shown flashes of being a pretty headsy player. A few passes he's made this year have surprised me. He's not a great skater at all but he can sure move the puck; he sees the ice well. That third goal cam let in was deflected.
  6. Haha maybe. Boys looked pretty good last night. Other than a few flurries BC want up to snuff last night. sounds like we could have up to three players headed to the WJC.
  7. I'm at the game....was it that bad? I didn't see much other than a rough
  8. Refs completely changed the outcome of this game.
  9. 5-3 Sioux boys. Saw brock this morning...looked fine. But wrists are the tricky.
  10. We used to run them up into the 20's. we'd just play them once for double pts.
  11. Oh for sure, I don't think he's the problem either. A lot of those goals are point blank shots. I have only seen 1-2 "terrible" goals all year. We aren't letting in a lot of goals (as a team) either. I was simply point to the fact that besides the SCSU weekend, he's not playing great either. 3 and 4? Hahaha.....right. there's a big difference in talent.
  12. I keep reading all the UND writers backing the goaltending situation....makes sense. Cam is going to play the rest of the year, that's obvious. I think some of the fans are pointing to the fact that our goaltending numbers look below average. That's all. We aren't giving up a ton of shots....but we aren't scoring a lot either. Cam hasn't been playing terrible but to say he's playing good isn't true either. Also....Goon never compare the walk on tendy to Tomek
  13. I pinned Wolanin as a "maybe". There are three types of dmen... offensive, stay at home, and 2-way (ex. Klingburg, greene (sorry couldn't think of anyone else), and Doughty). You could break up Wolanin and Shaw sure.....which pairing has been giving up the goals?
  14. I would say our only two "offensive minded" dmen are Shaw and maybe wolanin. Although poolman has nice offensive abilities he's technically a 2 way dman.
  15. Ha ha, come on. You honestly think the fact he mentioned the Sioux name is the reason they're in a hole? They are coming off a national title in the top NCAA division for their particular sport. Let's see what happens to the VB team against minny.
  16. You are correct but last year's team was absolutely jacked up. A lot of coaches would have won a natty with last year's team. UND has had some bad luck in the past but consistently pushing out teams that have a pretty good chance at winning a natty. This year's team is really no different. There is a ton of talent on this year's team (draft picks, high offensive point getters/goal scorers at the USHL level). For example, I thought Mason Appleton was really good last weekend. He was 5th on his USHL team in scoring two years ago....Wilkie was first. Berry has assembled a pretty good team this year, they are having trouble putting it all together though. Our D is more top heavy this year but should still be relatively solid. Those freshmen D weren't drafted but they are some solid overagers that played good stay at home D in the USHL (a very very good league), so they should be fine playing a 5-6 role. I'm still pretty optimistic about this year's team, because I know the talent they have on paper. They need to start figuring it out pretty soon though.
  17. Exactly, I totally agree. I don't think Cam should lose his role or anything...I was just looking into the numbers a bit. To your point though, if a team has 3 (really) bad d breakdowns you hope your tendy can pick some of those up. Against MSU Cam really didn't. Against SCSU, Cam had a ton of perimeter shots however he made some nice saves as well. Denver was a weird series, I don't remember too many big goalie saves, just some really tight hockey. Against MN, Cam got peppered Friday night but he really didn't steal anything either. Saturday night he really wasn't forced to play well either. All in all, Cam's been very average this year, but there's nothing really Berry can do now. Cam has the track record of being a pretty good goalie and our backups haven't seen any minutes. The fact Hyrnkiw is listed as backup every game pretty much says that Cam is going wire to wire this year (barring injury). Tomek hasn't played a real game since 2014....you cant throw him in against a good team. If they were planning on playing him they would have let him have a game against Canisius, RPI, or MSU. It's Cam's net this year.
  18. I saw that article....if you back out the SCSU weekend how does his numbers look in November? The good thing about statistics is that you can slice and dice them and throw out the outliers. And I honestly haven't checked. Edit: So I checked.....excluding the SCSU games, Cam's save % is 88.28% so far in November. 6 total games (MN, Denver, and MSU).
  19. This summer the US team smoked Canada 5-1....and that was with Canada having Marner, Chychrun, and Crouse.
