Agreed. I wasn’t overly impressed with how we played the second half of the game. We came out with a flurry and laid back a bit. Caught some breaks and Scheel played strong again. Boys need to be buzzing tonight.

I would second this. Ausmus and Spicer play for the juiced up '04 Blades team that crushed everybody on the planet last summer. Both did very well. Panzer is a great player too who will definitely play D1 hockey.

Ok I’m more locked into this Richels kid...he had 5 assists last night. Absolutely putting up video game numbers. Avg over 3 pts a game in a conference that’s definitely not easy. He’s a big kid, curious if his skating is iffy

Agreed...he was really good when he was younger. Hasn't had the production at the HS level though, obviously still a ton of time though.

Bordeleau would be a great get, Dad played in the show. I'm guessing he goes to one of the East Coast schools if he plays college. Maybe check out which schools he follows on Twitter. That typically gives you a reasonable clue. Richels plays with Brodzinski, I would say that has a ton to do with it.

Bingo, a lot of this is factual. But...we did miss out on high end talent, specifically at the F position, the past few recruiting classes. One here or there and then they leave a year early. What happens is you are left with solid 5x5 guys and we hope they turn into high point producers (i.e. Gardner). Many times Ive noticed that we get (or used to get) the high end guy and backfill it with tough to play against guys. When the high end guys leave, you're left with solid 5x5 guys....which is where we are today. I do like next year's recruiting class and I do think some of our FR and Soph players will take that jump next year. We simply don't have strong upperclassmen....from a point production standpoint.

I agree with most of what you're saying here...as far as older players dominating against younger competition. But I would like to know how many 16 YOs there are in the USHL; I would doubt there are more than 3-5. That league is so tough now. If you put up big points in the USHL you will be good in college hockey...now matter what your age is. That league has even changed from 5 years ago with all the new Euro influx. I have heard this Ness kid is kind of a later bloomer. Hopefully he picks it up (production wise) during the stretch run and has a good year next year when some of the older kids move on. As far as your last comment, I assume you mean first round talent. They are going elsewhere.

I wouldn’t quite say that but he definitely comes across as role player to me. 8-9th on his own team in pts but he missed some time with the wjac. Ushl is a very tough league and it is his first year of juniors. May be more of a senden type player. Next year will show us more.

Numbers definitely don't jump off the page (not that young) but he played for USA in the WJAC. Looks like he'll play USHL again next year. That should be good for him.
