I can't speak for Miami, but there's no way WMU moves into the new CCHA (which is what I'm calling it) as long as our AD is still around. She absolutely wants WMU hockey in the highest tier conference they can be in. She want's WMU to be in a conference with schools that are all Div 1 or at the very least teams that have a huge commitment to hockey. The only team in the new CCHA that fits that profile is BGSU. We were fine playing the LSSUs and Northerns of the world when we also got to play Michigan, Michigan State, and Notre Dame all the time, but there's no way we'd voluntarily move our team down to play with a bunch of Gliac schools. The travel isn't really the huge issue that others make it out to be for WMU. Kalamazoo has an international airport (with another a short drive away in Grand Rapids) and supplements athletic costs by playing money games against B1G teams in football and charging students an athletics fee. Also despite what others say, I would also expect there to be an attendance hit if WMU left the NCHC. Sure, LSSU, and Northern are from the same state, but they traditionally haven't drawn well when playing in Kalamazoo. We get much more excited to play Denver, SCSU or You guys than the teams from the UP (although we draw well for Ferris usually).

I get that, we have a history of not doing anything. I'm drinking so much koolaid though, we're going to have more talent then we've ever had. No goalie, but it's not like we had a world beater last year. That said, if we have a great year I can totally see us SCSU-ing it and losing in the 1st round against a #4 seed. That's just how we roll.

It's fine, We'll just prop him up and play pre-recorded sounds of him yelling at the refs.

Oh man, I hope there isn't some clause in the MAC where 6 teams creates a new conference automatically like there was with the Big 10. We'd still be a couple teams away, but man that would suck.

They're a good team. WMU should have won in the 1st game where we outshot them something like 38-16. I'm curious to find out what the heck happened to Wade Allison and why he's not playing yet.

Just a quick correction, blacker wasn't pulled in both Denver games, just the 1st. He came in to relieve our other goalie in game 2 after he got pulled as well and played well.

We're much better at home than on the road, i'd be happy with a split against you guys.

We only scored 2 of our 13 goals against Denver on the powerplay that weekend. I agree about attacking though, they're too skilled to sit back and play conservative.

True. It should be a great game, but I think the fact that we'll have Blacker who had mono when we played them last, and our familiarity will work out for us. Also the fact that their 2nd half of the season wasn't exactly filled with the same quality teams we were playing. Since Dec 2nd their best opponent was Cannisus at 25 in the pwr who they lost and tied against, with the majority of their wins coming against teams in the 40s and 50s.

No word, but i'm sure that Dries (captain) plays. He played in game 3 vs Omaha. I think Andy knew the frozen faceoff wasn't that important big picture and let him rest those games.

fortunately we played airforce twice already, scoring 5 and 4 goals in the two games.

lol seriously. Last year took a pretty big toll on him. Many of our fans wanted him fired and you could tell it weighed on him a bit.

Nice hard fought series. You guys dominated us in the 2nd half of saturdays game, we are lucky to have held on. If we didn't have blacker you would have won by 3 or 4. I think you'll win enough to make it into the tournament again this year, and will probably win more games than we will once you're there (we've never won a single NCAA game in the history of our program).

Actually Wmu is a very young team. Freshman goalie and most of our top scorers are fresh or soph.

I think this is the year we finally beat you guys in Kalamazoo. But.... i'm usually wrong. Either way it'll be a good series. Please don't drink all of our beer when you're here.

yeah jeesh... give us some credit lol WMU is a young team that didn't have their stuff together at the beginning of the year. We have shown flashes and the ability to look really really good but some of the players aren't making good decisions yet when it comes to penalties. Saturday night was heartbreaking, your goalie really won that game for you guys. I wouldn't mind meeting again in the Frozen Faceoff finals. I hope those of you who visited K-zoo had a good experience.
